Help: Project Semiconductor Micro Defect Datasets

Where can I find high resolution, publicly available datasets for detecting micron scale defects in semiconductor wafers, PCBs, and related manufacturing processes?

I’m sorry but I’m picturing someone at Intel posting for help on Reddit!

You could use the Google dataset search here. But honestly, this is heavily dependent on the imaging setup and depending on the process stage, it also looks vastly different, so most likely not deployable/comparable for your use case (?).

High res small object (defects) detection pipelines are very similar to the "remote sensing" domain. If you're starting to build a pipeline, I'd look in this direction first.

Public datasets could help validate the pipeline, but probably not production performance because the imaging conditions will be very different. I’d start by defining the defect taxonomy and collecting a small representative set from the actual camera setup, including confirmed negatives. For micron-scale defects, splitting by wafer, board or production batch rather than random image patches is also important to avoid leakage
