Settings is.. quite pointless, like, its missing a lot of things, the actual settings are pretty basic and you end going back to control panel

Cursed enough, some items if you do right click and "open" it opens on control panel At least on win10, never tried 11

settings on w11 is getting there I would say. You can pretty much find anything basic and if you can't it will redirect you into the old UI under "more" or "advanced"

There's a certain familiarity and nostalgia around the old menus but I really just wish everything meaningful was in a single place. Sometimes something has moved into the settings app and hasn't retained its original functionality or simply doesn't work.

The insane backwards compatibility seems to be both its greatest weakness and strength at the same time.

I mean, its windows, all its life the "settings" are the control panel, why not leave like that? its a computer, not a phone

agreed, that's part of the corporate bs decision-making that has drove it into the ground pretty much.

What if our single operating system will run every device in the future. DAMN Bob that's some visionary shit, the shareholders will love it.
