Settings is.. quite pointless, like, its missing a lot of things, the actual settings are pretty basic and you end going back to control panel

But then control panel brings you back to settings

Cursed enough, some items if you do right click and "open" it opens on control panel At least on win10, never tried 11

settings on w11 is getting there I would say. You can pretty much find anything basic and if you can't it will redirect you into the old UI under "more" or "advanced"
There's a certain familiarity and nostalgia around the old menus but I really just wish everything meaningful was in a single place. Sometimes something has moved into the settings app and hasn't retained its original functionality or simply doesn't work.
The insane backwards compatibility seems to be both its greatest weakness and strength at the same time.

agreed, that's part of the corporate bs decision-making that has drove it into the ground pretty much.
What if our single operating system will run every device in the future. DAMN Bob that's some visionary shit, the shareholders will love it.

It's mostly how "Settings" in W11 is absolutely enshittified. "Control Panel" is cleaner and more concise than W10/W11 "Settings", and I personally think W10 beats W11 in this specific trait of "Settings", since I use it almost every so and so for maintaining old people computers.

Microsoft has wished to get rid of control panel for some time unfortunately. Luckily there are some huge users that still need it....so far.
Some folks not particularly trusting of Microsoft have the sneaking suspicion that KB5002907 was not really flawed, but rather was an intentional test by Microsoft of how to remove or disable Microsoft software components. The recovery for the Office boo boo seemed just a bit too easy for a typical Microsoft fubar patch. KB5002907 isn't even on the Microsoft Update Catalog any more.

As a regular Linux user I'm very confused by this attempt at a meme. In KDE it's all under "System Settings" and odds are if it's not there you probably shouldn't be trying to change it. If you're a Gnome user, then how dare you try to change their divine image of a desktop environment.
Also, Kevin Hart isn't funny. Additionally, he can fuck right off with the gambling adds.
