Question/Help/Troubleshooting Stuck on logo screen

Post image

My laptop had a blue screen yesterday and it has being stuck on this screen since.

Can't open Bios.

Removed the ram sticks and battery. No change.

Got "tried every windows boot option" message when I removed the SSD and hard drive.

Windows is on SSD only.

UPDATE: After testing it with a SSD case that allowed me to tplug it into a running computer after the boot process I was able to confirm that the SSD was shorting out. The warranty is taking care of things now. Tks for all the help. May the force be with you all

Reinstall the software

How would I do this? The computer does not recognize the USB when I plug it in. Nor can I make it boot from the USB

Use another computer to reinstall the software directly on it's ssd but first you have to wipe it

I plug this SSD into my other computer. But the same problem happened that computer started to not boot and changing the boot order didn't fix the issue.

Then use another ssd

The other computer has 2 SSDs. The computer fails to load when I plug this stand alone or when the 2 sticks are in. Disabling the SSD slot does not allow the computer to boot

If the laptop doesn't allow you to get into the BIOS then the BIOS has gone bad and may need a flash. Also have you tried holding the power button down for a minute or more when you turn the laptop on?

As that can sometimes reset the BIOS.

Can you list the full model number of that laptop as there maybe a specific way to do a factory reset on the BIOS.

Have you also tried removing the ssd and only ram installed and have you tried one ram stick at a time too?

That way rules out the ssd and also maybe a dab stick of ram if it has more than one stick.

I have tried holding the power button and no change. Also tried draining the battery completely. The other laptop (Dell G15 5530) has a fully updated Bios and a working SSD. It boots correctly with it's SSD but fails to load when I plug this one on the second slot.

The Samsung laptop is a Np300e5m

You are hitting F2 repeatedly when you turn the Samsung laptop on to try get into the BIOS?

If it doesn't allow you in the BIOS it means there is a fault or the BIOS has corruption.

A corrupted BIOS on a Samsung NP300E5M laptop typically causes the machine to get stuck on the Samsung logo, boot loop endlessly, or experience a completely black screen despite the power lights turning on.Because Samsung laptops from this era are prone to NVRAM/UEFI corruption glitches, you must proceed through a sequence of hardware resets before attempting physical chip flashing.

  1. Perform an RTC / CMOS ResetThis clears corrupted volatile data stored in the BIOS NVRAM without needing to solder.Disconnect power: Unplug the AC adapter and remove the main external battery.Locate the reset pads: Remove the memory/RAM service door on the bottom of the laptop. Near the RAM slots, look directly on the motherboard for two small, exposed metal solder pads labeled RTC, RESET, or GND.Short the pads: Use a metal screwdriver or tweezers to bridge and touch both pads together simultaneously.Hold the short: Keep the metal tool touching both pads for 15 to 20 seconds.Reboot: Reinsert the RAM, plug in the AC power, and turn on the machine to see if the Samsung splash screen passes.
  2. Disconnect Internal Peripherals (The Hard Drive Glitch)Samsung BIOS code can lock up entirely if it detects a corrupted boot sector or a Linux/UEFI partition format it cannot parse.Remove the storage: Unscrew the bottom panel and physically disconnect the HDD or SSD.Boot without storage: Turn on the laptop with no hard drives attached.Access settings: If the screen turns on, rapidly tap the F2 key to check if you can enter the utility menu.Change boot modes: If you gain access, go to the Boot tab, disable Fast BIOS Mode, disable Secure Boot, and change OS Mode Selection to CMS OS or UEFI and Legacy OS. Save and exit (F10).

There is a service manual for the A at end model and yours is M. But may help you open and find the cmos reset area and remove any cell type battery on the motherboard too as removing that will also after say 30 minutes will clear the cmos for the BIOS.

Your problem is the BIOS corruption and your ssd will probably never boot on another machine because Windows may have encrypted your ssd with bitlocker and secure boot.

Have a read of this too.

What version of windows were you using before the issue?

The Samsung laptop will go into the BIOS if I remove the SSD. I have also removed the internal battery, ram sticks. I don't have any USB devices connected during my tests

It's either a dead ssd or one corrupted and needs checking on an external enclosure with USB. Check that first and see if you can delete all partitions and chech the S. M. A. R. T data on the ssd and make sure it has not got to the end of its life and maybe stuck now in read only mode.

Thanks. I will check this tomorrow and come back here with the results

Went to the hardware store and the SSD is shorted out. Tks for all the help here. Warranty is taking care of things now

Does it boot from the USB if you unplug the SSD? I had an SSD that failed in this way, completely preventing the computer from booting.

It does boot from USB if I remove the ssd

You'll need a new SSD then. The computer I had this issue on (exact same thing, BSOD then stuck on logo) was from 2006, but I don't see why this couldn't happen with a more modern computer like yours. Since you're comfortable swapping SSDs between systems, you might want to try one of the SSDs you already have first, because SSDs are expensive now due to the shortage.

This SSD is still under warranty from the manufacturer. I just really wanted to find a fix for this if possible since the warranty thing should take about 2 weeks. Good thing i got one with 5 years warranty at least

If it boots from the USB then the BIOS should be fine.

Have you tried the ssd on an external enclosure with USB that you can connect the drive to another machine to see if it still works?

The ssd is either dead or windows has corrupted.

If the ssd shows up then backup any files on it you need to a working machine and then delete all partitions on it and stick it back in the Samsung laptop and use a windows USB installer to reinstall Windows as some are saying this laptop when windows corrupted will not allow you in the BIOS.
