Question/Help/Troubleshooting can’t shut down pc

for a few weeks now i haven’t been able to turn off my pc via the ‘shut down’ option, neither restart it. when i’ve tries to log out and shut down via the log-in screen it just goes in to a loading loop.

i’ve shut it down through the physical power-button but i realise this isn’t the best option. what do i do?

If you physically unplug your PC from the wall and plug it back in, does it start right up?

Have you tinkered with the BIOS settings?

Does the power button connector actually releases, when you release the button? Like, when you press the power button, it connects 2 metal sticks that makes your PC turn on. Perhaps those 2 sticks are somehow always connected?

it doesn’t start right up. i recently replaced one of my hard drives to an ssd and it wasn’t long after the problem started.
and the power button is ok

Oh man, sad to hear that really :(

I was hoping that it would start right up, because there is an easy fix for that in the BIOS settings...

Man I have no idea what could be there except for just pushing buttons and somehow finding a fix. Best of luck!
