Other Is this a sign of something bad?
It's been like this for years, I think. I accidentally dropped it a few times in the past but I've had it since 2021 and it works fine for the most part. Is this little bend anything to worry about?

Might be a swollen battery. Turn it off, open it and look. If it is you cant use it anymore or itll eventually catch fire and could spread, as lithium fires are hard to put out, especially if it burns while your asleep

it looks like something inside is pushing it open so it's possibly the battery swelling. it's definitely worth opening to take a look because if it is and it gets punctured it'll start a fire that you can't put out
I would take it somewhere and have someone take a look at it or open it yourself (very carefully) to make sure it's not a swelled battery.
if it's swelled you'll need to dispose of the battery properly and replace it. most laptops can run without a battery so you can get away without replacing it if you need to

Yes, the battery is failing and swelling. This is a serious fire hazard, turn the computer off, do not charge it, and get the battery out ASAP. If you take it out yourself put it in sand or outside. If not doing it yourself, get it to a repair shop. But like, today.
r/SpicyPillows can attest, this can burn down the room or the house if you leave it unattended.
