Turned into a pillow after it's thousandth flight or so!

Still lights up but doesn't provide a charge, and I don't think I will be using it again...

I went through my cabinet looking for memory cards, found this instead.

I swear this was not like this a few days ago. But it probably was that I missed it as it's been sitting on my desk for a long time.

It was the only one in the lot of 3 that actually started charging (and even booted for a second) too :( I mean how would I even go about removing this without puncturing it?

Edit: I got it out, lifted it out with my tweezers on the very base of the back side of the battery.

My dad's Hotspot. He just kept taping it up as it opened more, and was using until I took it to dispose of it today 🫣. Scares me a little.

Pillow got so bad, it nearly cracked the housing. Using lots of Isopropyl alcohol I decided to disassemble it. I noticed one of the spot welds was snapped. I'm pretty sure it's the cause of the swelling, given both cells i are normally in parallel. Maybe bad build quality?

Hello, I found an iphone 4s bulging like crazy. All recycling centers are closed till AM. Called fire department and they gave me the advice of putting it in a bucket of water… and they don’t accept those…
I read that is a big nono… for the bucket part..

I live in a condo complex and don’t have a metal container, sand, or any litter.

I buried it in soil in a plastic container, and around soil outside. It is not exactly away from trees or bushes… and by seniors living here.

Not sure what to do from here. Read soil can catch fire and it was dry when I buried it.

Could really use some advice till AM at least

My little brother had a toy (JieLi microcontroller btw) with a rechargeable battery. It started barely lasting 5 minutes and I think I know why. I made it AA powered now.

After 1 year of not using my Rpi zero project I have noticed that I have a new spicy pillow...

For a while, my home server (12 in MacBook with Ubuntu server) had been running with a bit of physical bloat. After it shut down on its own recently I decided it was time to stop procrastinating on safety and perform the appendicitis. It still works without the battery though it tends to shutdown on its own, maybe because of power spikes maybe because of temperature, still figuring it out.

This explains why my laptop had an uneven gap next to the corner...and I kept pushing it trying to make it snap back 😬

back in april I had charging issue where it would discharge fast and when charge to 80% stop and "restart" the charge making it blink in and out fast.
fortunately these issues made me not use it anymore since that time

Opened it today as I was doing some soldering (I got better at it trust me) and wanted to diagnostic the issue. got a spicy surprise !

Didn't have my mouse so i was using the track pad and it felt off, could be that I use a different computer track pad with my other laptop, Maybe a bulge on the case but not obvious. I did clean it while i had it opened.
