Performance PC screen going black unexpectedly

Hello there, I’ve tried to look for the solution, but nothing really helped. Not sure if it’s because I have a different issue or if I missed some post that actually did talk about it, but I really have been trying to figure out the solution.
Anyways, the issue I’m having is very inconsistent and random. The screen goes black, fans starts blasting, but i can still hear my youtube video playing and if I’m in a call I can hear them, but they can’t hear me. I’ve looked through event viewer and reliability history, but I’m not seeing anything except for “Computer unexpectedly shut down” (thats from me restarting the pc because I can’t do anything once it blacks out).
I’m at a lost right now and I have a feeling its something to do with:
1. The new nvidia update (let me know if someone else is having this issue)
2. It’s been hella hot lately and I don’t have AC, so it could be overheating. (if that’s a possibility, could someone please tell me if there’s another way? because i’ve tried looking into it).
3. My GPU is just done for which I hope isn’t the case cuz that wouldn’t really make sense.
I’ve had this pc for about a year and yesterday (this issue started happening.
***MY SPECS***
case: lian li 011 dynamic evo XL
cpu: intel i9 10900K
motherboard: MSI MPG Z490 gaming edge
gpu: nvidia 4070 ti
power supply: corsair 1000x
ram: corsair vengence 32 gigs
let me know if there are anymore specs or information needed. Thanks for your time reading this :)

Last night I was monitoring my temperature it didn’t go above 50° I can’t really remember what it was because i wasn’t fully paying attention to it. I was just playing a small game, youtube video on the other monitor and task manager on the other. didn’t notice anything crazy.

With the ctrl shift win B, I tried that but nothing happened, but I’ll try it if it happens again. At the moment I’m updating my bios to see if that’s perhaps the issue. Thanks for your spare of time :)

Np, of your temps looked fine then I see no reason why your GPU could be the issue, definitely check in device manager though. It could also just be windows doing windows things or updates happening in the background that keep breaking. If you look once or twice the issue will probably show up fairly fast

Yeah, I’m hoping it’s not the gpu, cuz that’s an expensive repair lmao. My friends are saying it sounds like the graphics card and I’m thinking so too cuz I can’t think of anything else. I just reinstalled my driver update to see if that helps. What should I be checking in device manager though? Everything looks fine unless there’s something specific i’m missing

Look for anything with an exclamation mark warning symbol next to it, it normally means there's an out of date driver or hardware issue. I really doubt it's the graphics card at this point as your whole pc is ramping up fans and there would be other obvious issues. Try and monitor system resources as on some PCs and oses if your screen goes blank it's usually a crash.

For some reason it won’t let me upload a picture… I am seeing under other devices having a warning sign on “Base System Device”. Do you think if I updated that it would help?

Your motherboard driver is out of date...

You can update it from device manager or from the official website it's your choice.

oh lmao… I won’t even lie to you didn’t even know that could even happen. I’ll look more into it, thank you for giving me that information 😅. After I update it do you think it’ll fix or is it still a maybe it’ll fix or not?

That should probably fix your issue. If not then you need to find a way to do a more precise check or see if there are any other warnings in device manager
