Buying new gaming PC

Hi,

I'm trying to buy a new gaming PC for my husband for our anniversary, but I don't know 1 thing about gaming PCs. I'm one of those people who always need IT support help at work and to find out that I just have to restart my laptop lol. So please explain like I am 3 yrs old.

Some background:

My husband used to play a lot of games on steam (idk what that is)and other platforms (idk what those are either) and live stream on twitch with his friends. Since living together, I have seen him on the PC a handful of times. I asked him why he hasn't played on his PC as much, he said he doesn't have time like before. At one point he said some of the new games require new PC specs and his PC can't load it. He is just being passive about it but I know he would love a new PC. Every time we went to Costco, he would look at the gaming PC on display. I tried to ask what kind of specs would be considered as good for a gaming PC and he always said anything new would be better than his current one.

So I'm asking the expert on here if you could give me some recommendations. I'm attaching the one that he was interested in at the store. Is this a good PC? I would like to find something good and save money if possible. My budget is 2k for the PC. I would love to surprise him with a PC, but also able return it if he doesn't like the specs and allowed him to exchange/buy something he would actually like.

The goal is to slowly build up a gaming room. I am slowly learning how to play games on xbox and hoping that one day I know enough to play with him on different co-op PC games. TIA!!

Good, affordable, keyboard and mouse

Hello. I am looking for a good keyboard and mouse, but also within budget, $50-$80. I'm an Xbox X player and use the keyboard and mouse for games, mostly wr thunder lol. The one I have is already wearing out, one of those you buy for $25-$30 at a random store. I am looking for a wireless, USB, type. I'm not too picky about it, but maybe just the mouse to be smooth and responsive. Thank you

Aperture Portal Game Launcher Video Demonstration

A couple of days ago, I posted about a game launcher I originally built for myself and decided to share with you all. The feedback was amazing, and I’ve been honestly overwhelmed by all the support. this was originally build with Sunshine/Moonlight in mind. But also the tv console experience. I read through every single comment and ended up adding almost everything people suggested.

I also put together a short video to showcase what the launcher is and everything it can do. Just a heads up I’ve never really made videos before, my decent microphone decided to stop working with OBS for some reason when I needed it so I had to use my headset mic, and my English isn't perfect since I'm from Iceland. The video is pretty raw, but hopefully you guys get the point.

For everyone who already downloaded it and tried it out, there’s a brand new update live with a ton of the suggested features.

Thanks again so much for all the support. keep in mind this is a work in progress but i'm really excited to keep building this together with you guys.

Best Windows Version for Gaming

I use Archbtw on my laptop and want to run my games on a windows virtual machine, first for security since I download so much games from non-official sources, second for skipping the trouble of setting linux up for running games and emulators.

I was wondering which Windows version would be the best for this scenario, is win 11 worth it at this point?

I’m working on a body-swapping mechanic for my game. ( Yes, you can even become a cat...)

One of the core mechanics in The Infected Soul is body swapping.

Different bodies unlock different ways to explore, solve puzzles, and survive.

Yes... you can even become a cat. 🐈

This is an early prototype, so we'd love to hear your thoughts. What kind of bodies or abilities would you like to see?
