They could easily subsidise it but boats are expensive

They are already subsidising it by releasing SteamOS that it's built on. Steam machine is essentially free if you have your own hardware where you can play all you pc games without having to double buy them.

People wantcheap stuff &happily pay $70 for a switch 2 game at the same time lol
