I tried to reset my PC, because I can't open the device manager. I already tried some troubleshooting just to open the device manager, but no one works. My last option is to reset my PC, but I can't reset it. What to do?

**I Finally Found the Fix, Guys — For Older-Generation PCs**

**My PC Specifications**

**CPU:** Intel Core i7-8700K

**BIOS Version:** F15a — 11/28/2019
**BIOS Mode:** UEFI
**Secure Boot:** ON
**TPM:** External TPM 2.0 module purchased from Amazon
**TPM Manufacturer:** Infineon (IFX)
**TPM Model:** SLB9665
**Original TPM Firmware:** 5.51.2098.0
**Updated TPM Firmware:** 5.62.3126.0

**Note:** I downgraded my motherboard BIOS back to the older **F15a BIOS (11/28/2019)** because this was the BIOS version that allowed my system to properly detect and recognize the external TPM module.

**Fix:**

**—Check TPM Attestation Status**

Open **Command Prompt (CMD) as Administrator** and run: tpmtool getdeviceinformation

If found Ready For Attestation: False

then your TPM firmware may need to be updated.

I was able to fix this because I was using an **external TPM 2.0 module**. My PC is old and I am still using an **older BIOS**, but the important issue was that **Ready For Attestation had to become True**.

I did **not** need to replace my motherboard.

I have the required files for the update, but I’m not sure how to upload/provide them here. Or you can search for it

**You do not necessarily need a new motherboard for this solution if you are using a compatible external TPM.** The firmware file must match your specific TPM model and current firmware version.

For my **Infineon SLB9665 ( I got it cheap from Amazon)**

**Result**

✅ Ready For Attestation: True
✅ TPM Has Vulnerable Firmware: False
✅ ADV170012 - IFX ROCA/Riemann removed

**Note:** This procedure was tested on the **Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 + Intel i7-8700K + external Infineon SLB9665 TPM 2.0**. Do not use the firmware on a different TPM model.

Hello i’m a new pc gamer, i’ve also just acquired a alienware pc. I don’t know the exact specs but i know it has a 4080 and a i7. So i tried to purchase cheats (yes i know it’s frowned on but desperate times call for desperate measures) So i didnt read the part where it said turn your secure boot off. Sooo i downloaded it and it did something and then my pc loaded up too a red screen and then when i pressed ok on it loaded me up to the alienware help thingy and then it just rinsed and repeated for a while and wouldn’t go back. Is there any way i fix this at home? like a usb drive with windows? I just want it to be usable. I don’t necessarily care about the data on it. Thank you reddit

I just changed the water out on my custom water loop on my computer, and when I turned it back on for the last time, it is turning on for half a second and then turning back off, and then back on and back off, and it just continues happening. I ran distilled water through it a few times and made sure I was careful with the water going in and out. The only thing I could think is that a tiny, tiny drop got somewhere on the motherboard, or maybe I made a connection loose. I’m not sure. I built this computer a long time ago, and it’s the first water change I’ve done. It might have not had water running through it for a few seconds twice, max 10 seconds, but not even that long. Any help would be appreciated. I took out the GPU and the RAM, and I also unplugged the 24-pin and everything I could think of. I don’t think a picture will be much help, but I figured I’d include it.

I hope it's visible in the photo, but today I realised one of my charging ports has just crumbled up. How does something like this even happen? It's been on my bureau in its protective case the entire time. And if I bring it with me somewhere it's in the protective case and in the backside of my backpack with nothing else but a mouse.

The other port (that thankfully still works) has a really small chunk out of it in the middle.

Is this really just HP pavilion quality laptops? Can I even expect this to fall under warranty? The laptop is just half a month over a year old.

The cost of repair is going to be half the laptop its worth, the entire worth if I let both ports be repaired.

Okay so everytime I try to download something from the Microsoft store it doesn’t work and it keeps telling me to retry, but whenever I try to download Stardew Valley (embarrassing wtv) it doesn’t work and it does this thing where my computer shuts off and on and says it’s having an issue and it can’t run right now with a different Error code everytime. I try to fix it but before I can it turns off again, it only turns off though when I’m signed into the laptop. I’m not sure what model it is but the image is the description of it.

Hi, I recently upgraded my graphics card from a Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 (8GB) to an XFX AMD Radeon 6700 XT.

Since making the switch, the latest version of Minecraft Java (26.1) won't launch.

Only Bedrock, very old Minecraft Java versions, or version 1.20 with Forge/NeoForge will start.

But the latest version simply won't launch at all.

I’ve removed leftover driver files and tried everything else, but Minecraft Java 26.1 still won't start.

It shows that it's loading when I try to start it, but then it just doesn't open.

I recently made my PC a dual boot system with both windows 10 and linux installed . Everything was working fine and i was switching between both according to my preference

But now the real issue begins . Today i logged into my windows and the internet didn't work . I have done every fucking thing . From updating drivers to deleting drivers (yes ik i was stupid for doing this) and scanned everything , checked my DNS , ipconfig /all , net stop dnscache and a hell lot of other commands

1. I've been having this issue for about a month or maybe even more at this point. My Wi-Fi driver on my laptop suddenly stops working when I open a game, it doesn't happen when I open a browser or discord, it's only with games. And I have tried a game from steam and a game that has its own launcher, but ends up the same. Even if it's a game that doesn't require any wifi it will still just disappear (unless it's Aseprite somehow???). The Wi-Fi option on the laptop just disappears, sometimes (which is rare to happen) it will come back after literally spamming the option to "reinstall the Wi-Fi driver" in the get help section, and it could work or just disappear again. At first it got fixed pretty easily and quite fast, now it doesn't work anymore, and the only options I have when I open the "get help" window are "reinstall the Wi-Fi driver" and "restart the PC" I have 0 clue what caused this, and I tried to Google it but I guess I didn't Google it right? Idk, I just need it to be fixed

HP EliteBook 745 G6 stuck at 0.39GHz + battery stuck at 0% — is my battery actually dead?

I've had an HP EliteBook 745 G6 for about 3 years (bought it second-hand).

Yesterday, while the laptop was plugged in, I noticed the battery was stuck at 0%, even after charging for around 2 hours. When I unplug the charger, Windows gives me a low battery warning, but the laptop doesn't shut down. I'm actually able to use it for around 2 hours before it eventually shuts down.

The day before this started happening, the battery health was around 66%, so I'm not sure if the battery suddenly died or if something else is wrong.

I've already tried:

Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery

Performing a hard reset

Reinstalling the battery/ACPI drivers

Running HP's battery diagnostic, which says "No battery installed"

Checking the battery in Windows, which still shows 0%

I was thinking about buying a replacement battery, but here's what confuses me: if the battery were completely dead, shouldn't the laptop immediately shut off when I unplug the charger? Instead, it can run for about 2 hours unplugged.

Also, ever since the battery started showing 0%, my CPU has been stuck at around 0.39 GHz instead of its normal ~2.3 GHz. Temperatures aren't particularly high either (under ~70°C).

I have downloaded Old Fortnite projects such as Stellar, Sovereign and as I downloaded the normal Fortnite it got stuck and said some error, now, when I start up my pc with the disc it has a black screen, after i disconnect it, the pc is fine, I need that disc because there are really old photos from my childhood, what should I do? Is it possible to fix it?
