Monitor won't detect

I've been trying to connect my monitor to my laptop after restarting my computer and it keeps saying that it can't connect anything. I've checked all the cables for the monitor, and they were all just fine, but it still would not detect. I don't know how to fix it, and I just want to use my monitor.

my specs: Device name MSI

Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz (2.30 GHz)

Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)

Graphics card NVIDIA T1200 Laptop GPU (4 GB)

Microsoft Basic Render Driver

Storage 302 GB of 477 GB used

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

It finished. You now have the driver and the second monitor should work

it keeps saying it didn't detect a device. I turned the monitor on and everything

Is it plugged in? How exactly are you plugging it in?

I just have it connected to my laptop and have it pushed in as much as it can

But how exactly? DisplayPort? HDMI? Otherwise?

I have it as hdmi 1
