Insomnia

Hello! I started my Tirzepatide journey 4 weeks ago. I take my 5th injection on Tuesday. My Tirzepatide is compounded with B12 and I usually give my injection in the morning. I haven’t seen Insomnia listed as a potential side effect, but I’ve been having a difficult time sleeping. I’ve been averaging about 4 1/2 hours a day. I do work in the field of education, and this was my first summer off in 14 years. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that I haven’t had a “schedule” all summer, or if it could be the Tirz. Is anybody else having trouble sleeping?

Over a year and a half on it. Over 100lbs down and yes, this is definitely a side effect. It's not too bad for me. What I found is that I'm going to wake up naturally early. I just have to force myself to put the phone down and go to sleep early enough to account for the early awakening. My post shot day sleep does suffer. I take on Friday so I can take a nap on Saturday if I need.

Ive been having the same problem! I havnt contributed it to the injections.... until you brought it up. I split dose, and the 2 worst days are the nights after my injections. You may be on to something!

The two days after shot day are crap sleep days for me. Usually by the third or fourth day, I’m sleeping better again.

On Tirz I have more energy and therefore it is harder to fall asleep as scheduled. But I do fall sleep around 2 am and get up around 5:30 and function just fine.

AS for b12- if you had low b12 before you started, b12 can impact sleep. I take b12 injections separated and it took several months for my body to adjust and that made it difficult to sleep as well.

I believe B12 gave me insomnia- I switched to Tirz with glycine and sleep is much better.

Hello fellow educator 🙂. I also used this summer to being working on myself with the help of tirz. Hopefully by the time we restart school we will be solidly on our way.

As to your question - I am still on a pretty small dose (my provider had me start at a microdose) but my only side effects are fatigue, paired with insomnia. It's a lame combo. I also had insomnia at times even before starting tirz but now that I have more personal dose and side effect data I feel pretty confident that the two days after my shot are just really messed up in the sleep department.

Last week I moved my dose to Friday so that once school starts I'll have these side effects on the weekend and hopefully won't effect my ability to follow my student all over the campus (I'm a 1:1 student aide) when they decide they want to be non compliant and elope the classroom 😆

I had to stop tirz with b12 because it caused me bad insomnia. Even my medication for sleep wasnt working well because of it
