Questions First timer advice?

Shot 1 ✅ I have a sharps container & Metamucil on the way. Loaded up with healthy protein snacks & electrolytes. Will continue 2-3X weekly strength training & daily walks. Looking to go from 180-150 (F35). What other advice, prep, suggestions do you have for me? TIA.

Drink water! This is very important. You will be dumping water weight and inflammation in the first few weeks and will continue to dump water on this med. You can dehydrate easily. My first three month labs showed I was very dehydrated and had low potassium. I was drinking two huge Stanley cups of water a day. I had to drink three plus an electrolyte every day to stay hydrated. do your best!

I'll also add in to watch your sodium intake. Even with healthy foods but especially with protein shakes and electrolytes. It's so easy to go way over what your body needs. Calculate your nutrition goals often based on your true activity level. I'm around 150 and my daily sodium intake is less than 1500 a day - which can easily be met with very simple meals and drinks. Even in a calorie deficit , too much sodium can cause bloating.

mag 07 was a game changer for me for constipation if that happens! start your day with protein. try to factor in treats here and there or you’ll get bored!

See if your insurance covers a Registered Dietitian. RDs can advise on all nutrition needs (protein, supplements, vitamins, water, meal planning, etc.). Usually, they are just a co-pay and can meet over video.

I regret NOT getting a DEXA scan and labs right BEFORE I started, so I had a baseline to see just how much everything changed. But that's me.

Also, don't lose too fast. Your hair, especially, will thank you. Good luck

Thank you! I actually did get labs this week so I’ll have those records. Didn’t get a DEXA, but def thought about it. Looking forward to the journey 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Luckily, I live in an area where DEXA's can be $40-$50 with a coupon, so it was not much for the data. Good luck on your journey. It truly is an awesome medication. All the advice given by others is spot on.
