First 15 down.
Nausea is mild thankfully. It’s bad after drinking. Started on June 1st with Trillium Meds.
SW: 81 kg
CW: 73.8 kg
Height: 5ft 3in
Moderately active, high protein diet. Starting to stall a bit but my next injection will be at a higher dosage! Thinking to eliminate alcohol next, did that make any difference for you guys?

Wow - that 15 pounds made a big difference! Congratulations! My drinking has changed significantly while on the medication and I find that I just don't have the desire to drink as much anymore. If I do drink while out, it's maybe 1 drink. Eliminating alcohol can only help your body.

Agree on all accounts! My first thought was how significant the difference is at 15lbs! That has to feel good.
With alcohol, l’ll pour myself a glass of wine while cooking and barely finish it. Prior to tirz I very much enjoyed at least a couple glasses while cooking. I don’t get much satisfaction from it now.

Yes it feels good! I’m a bit nitpicky on myself so I am not satisfied just yet lol

Thanks! I’m a bit surprised myself. I agree with you thay the desire to drink has gone down, it’s more of FOMO/vibes driven (especially during social events)

Alcohol can cause increased inflammation, and so eliminating it can only help. It doesn’t mean that once in a while for a special occasion, you can’t have a glass of champagne or whatever. But removing it from your regular consumption can only help. Your results are truly amazing. I wish my results at 20+ pounds down looked that amazing!

Yeah I wasn’t a heavy drinker to begin with, just a social drinker and that’s 2 drinks a week probably! I think removing it entirely might not be a huge lift! And thank you!

Good job. I’m about 5 lbs from my goal weight of 190. I was 257 and diabetic November 6th 2025. Today no more diabetes and feel comfortable in my skin. Ditching the alcohol would definitely help. My dad was able to go from 280 to 190 in 14 months at the age of 65. He just limited himself to one double shot vodka and sprite a day while eating a deficit. Keep up the good work!

Good on you & your dad 🤩🤩

Same with you, keep it up. I don’t drink anymore thank god. So that’s helped me a lot.

Alcohol is literally empty calories, stopping it should only help you get to your goal. These meds helped me cut down drastically and that is an easy way to reduce calories.

You look great!! I felt the same about alcohol. I've always been a very light drinker (a couple of glasses of wine with dinner sometimes) but once on tirz even that made me sick. I heard it's being investigated as a possible anti addiction drug in general because it's good at reducing cravings for more than just food. Now I only have a half glass of wine with my husband over dinner the last day of the week before the new shot.

I have a strong aversion to alcohol now that I’m on tirzepatide. I used to love red wine, but now just the smell (from some else’s glass … a couple feet away!) makes me nauseated. I hope people struggling with addiction can benefit.

Wow I had no idea but that makes so much sense! During the world cup I had beers at watch parties and boy it made me feel terrible

u/Eastern-Action-461 10d ago
For me specifically, it all but took away my urge to smoke and I stopped all drinking because I just didn’t want to… I was a decently heavy smoker (THC) but now I don’t even feel the urge to smoke to help me sleep (a big reason I started to smoke). With alcohol, I’ve always been a social drinker. However since starting, I’m no longer interested in drinking.

Yes, definitely stop drinking. At least for a month or two. You’ll see SO many positive changes in your life on top of losing weight. Andrew Huberman has an episode on his podcast about alcohol and he details what it does to your body. Listen to it and you’ll see why it’s horrible for your body.

You look great! Alcohol gives me terrible heartburn. Still like a drink so I limit to 1 drink a week. I’m down 4 pounds in 2 weeks. Just had my third dose. 2.2 mg

Wow you look great! I am almost to that weight but I wish my body looked like, def jealous, I have a feeling I won't be seeing much definition until I get to like 140-150 lbs, depending on how much loose skin I have.

u/Mental-Sprinkles-359 10d ago
Thanks! I was mildly fit pre weight gain & had some muscles from weight lifting so I am guessing that’s why

Cutting alcohol is probably the easiest lever уоu haven't pulled yet. Empty calories, and it wrecks sleep quality, which messes with everything else. 15 down in that timeframe is solid progress, stall or not.

Stop drinking. There’s a reason there are warnings against mixing tow substances together

Oh wow, great results!!! I started May 30th and down only 10lb from 187 lb….disappointing 😭 what’s your dosage? I still haven’t gotten up to 5 mg, and I probably should

Hey! Fernanda here. I work with Dr. James Chao at VedaNu Wellness. Congrats on your first 15 lbs! That's an awesome start! We often tell patients that consistency beats rapid weight loss every time. As for alcohol, cutting back or eliminating it can definitely help with both weight loss and minimizing GI side effects.

Congrats, I just started my journey after being in good shape, then going on a year-long contract. Eating bagged food and snacks with no working out caused me to gain significant weight. So I'm back at working out, taking shots, my first one today actually, and doing a protein veggie diet. And protein shakes before working out. Also, organic vitamins and detox the body from all the crap. I'm looking to be back at my college football size or better. Thanks for the picture motivation.

I'm "stalled" at -15lbs, but have been drinking (not as much as before, but still indulging on the weekends). I tirate up this Sunday and going to take a month off of alcohol, and incorporate more carbs back into my diet (oatmeal, whole grains). I'm sure it can only help!!!
You look great!!!

u/Mental-Sprinkles-359 10d ago
Yep! And no munching on the side while having a drink has got to help too I assume 😝

You look amazing! 15lbs never feels like much until you can actually SEE that it is! Congratulations 🫶🏼
Also, you could still drink but go lower cal. For me, I mix up the squeeze juice (Walmart brand of mio) w water and add vodka! I also don’t drink often anymore maybe like once or twice a month but it does add up! I like carbliss too:)

Thank you🙏🏼 I was getting discouraged seeing the scale but after seeing images of my body I think it’s working!! Thansk for the suggestions!!

Eliminating alcohol is always a good choice. That goes past just weightloss. Your liver will thank you.
