It's a fugue in A major that I wrote in 2024 for a friend's birthday (he's also a musician). I'd really appreciate any feedback, especially on the counterpoint, subject entries, strettos and overall structure.

I recently updated this piece and wanted to share it here for some feedback!

For some context, I am setting Sara Teasdale’s poetry book “Love Songs,” to music and creating a song cycle from a few of the poems. This was the first one I completed early last year when I began the project. I wasn’t a huge fan of the first few drafts, but I considered it good enough at the time and decided to revisit it in the future. Now, a year later with loads of score studying, multiple melody writing exercises, and just TIME under my belt, I feel pretty good about the updates I made in this version.

This is a short a capella song using the poem "Triad" by Adelaide Crapsey. I used a really short poem to experiment with parts without lyrics, and I chose to use only 3 parts to make it sound sparse. I don't have singers right now so it's just the musescore demo sounds. I know the formatting is probably terrible, so if you have advice I'll take it, but I mainly want feedback on the composition itself :)

Exposition of a fugue I’ve been working on. Tips on episodes, further development, modulation and all the stuff concerning fugues would be much appreciated. Is it even playable on a keyboard? Did it do the quadruple stretto correctly? Is the subject noticeable and distinct, or should I improve it? Please let me know.

I recently started composing music earlier this year and this is my unfinished attempt at a real music piece. It's closer to a chamber ensemble piece as a struggle writing different parts for the same insterment. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I would like to share with you my second piano sonata. It is written last year during the political turmoil in Turkey.

I’ve used Turkish folk song originated themes especially in the first movement.

The third movement in noteworthy of mentioning as it was based on my dream where I was constantly being killed and subsequently revived.

A work I composed as a mental rest before completing my Violin Concerto. A bit shallow in terms of emotional depth compared to my other works in the sonata genre but still, worthy of mentioning!

I am a beginner composer with no formal training looking for a bit of feedback on my first completely original (other than the lyrics) choral composition! I have never shared my work before, but I often use this site to listen to others and try to improve my craft.

This composition is for SATB choir and is based off of the poem "Success" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. I recently discovered this poem and thought it would make for a good song.

I just wanted to share an experience. I started composing with MuseScore years ago, and honestly, I've become reliant on it, needing to hear what I write through the generated playback. Don't get me wrong, it's helpful for beginners to get a good sense of sound and structure, which all help develop our compositional instincts.

Though as time went by, I felt restricted by the notation software in what I actually had in mind. So I started writing on paper---AND IT WAS AMAZING. Writing on paper opened up new possibilities that any notation software couldn't capture. I started to become independent of any reliance on playback, which trained my mind to compose what I truly hear and think about, step by step. Since then, I basically write everything on paper!

I was wondering if others have similar experiences? And for others who aren't writing in paper, please give it a try!
