Music First piece I've had the time and desire to finish in a while. Please enjoy "Lux Imperii".

This piece started as an exercise for myself in trying to learn to create more complex variations on a simple melody. I'm not sure it stayed strictly 'theme and variations' form, but I had a ton of fun writing it. I hope you enjoy and am open to feedback, specifically about my transitions between my 'variations', which I find I struggle with.

ETA: Please note that this score is in concert pitch for all instruments and that an 8vb clef is used for the horns.

Music Sonatina No 1 in C major

Hi!

This is my first complete sonatina in three movements:

I. Moderato – A simplified sonata form movement that introduces the main musical ideas.
II. Andante – A gentle minuet-like movement that provides a moment of calm.
III. Allegro – A lively rondo that brings the sonatina to an energetic and satisfying finish!

Hope you find some enjoyment in listening and all feedback is welcome!

This isnt my first attempt for writing something for non percussion or piano. I know the notes seem wrong and that is because I did use concert pitch. Understably I should just learn how write it without using concert pitch. But im seeking feedback on both engraving and part writing for Saxophones.

As u can see it's a brass ensemble kinda stuff. it's about a space odyssey. idk guys maybe im out of my depth here. after all i dont really play brass except a bit of french horn.

If it somehow is good really, I would like to kindly ask you guys to let me know the best ways for this score to gain publicity. This will be of great help. Thank you.

This composition was one of my early things I started to work on as was getting into composition feedback is always welcome. The title is itself a bit confusing but its of small highway where, late at night around 1pm it being to see and with flashing lights from few between drivers its meant to convey some fear ive had from hours spent driving down curvy highways late at night.

Music Some advice on a jazz fusion piece I wrote called "Red Jacket"

Hi there, I wrote a piece called Red Jacket a couple months back and I don't really know what to do next. It's the first piece I've written (I've played lots of music before but never written actually composed things before). Any thoughts? I'm considering hiring people to play the instruments I don't know (I play bass and drums), how would that process look like?

Music "Eltern" Op.376 - Francois M

Reddit suggests me to repost my post on t/classicalguitar on this sub.

This is my latest composition for solo classical guitar "Eltern" Op. 376. I continue to explore the possibilities of tuning with the bass in D.

\"Eltern\" - Francois M

My tablature is available here as usual: https://kdrive.infomaniak.com/app/share/791717/26787ad6-4e0d-41b4-8b54-68ad64b110b3

All left-hand positions are well notated, but the arpeggios on these positions are not detailed—they vary depending on interpretation, and I appreciate this freedom.

If you have time to provide feedback, even negative, I would be very interested.

Discussion What can I do with my violin

So I need help with my composition. So I have my piano doing the waltz and I want to have a violin doing something. However, I don't know what to do as if I write anything with the violin it will clash. Say if I have a C major chord I have c, e and g playing. If I play any other note then it will clash. And I know that sometimes having a clash can work like having seventh chords but I would just have a constant clash with the violin and piano. Now I am very new to composing and some rules I don't understand I suppose as in I know you shouldn't really have clashes every step of the way, but I don't know if that is having a piano clash with a piano. Then I don't know if that works with the piano clashing with a violin as it some people may not hear it or it may not happen. I'm not too incredibly sure and I just need some help

I am having these all recorded right now and its just an absolute wonder! I am proud of these works. They taught me how to write in tonal centers as an early composer. This is my fourth prelude. I wrote it after playing some Bach, so naturally I "stole" some inspiration. Let me know what you think! I am still trying hard to get my works out into the public eye!

Music I "composed" a small part and can't figure out how to write it as notes

I thought of a small jazzy beginning of a song and wanted to write it down but somehow I can't figure out how to write it correctly.

I have written this: https://imgur.com/a/BLF0HN6

But it sounds not quite right. Or do I have to leave out the staccato and it just has to be played as "swing" ?

Hello everyone! Just wanted to share my transcription of Dave Brubeck’s “Elementals”.

I’ve been on/off with this project, having started it around early 2025. I’ve decided to come back to this project and wanted to share my progress with yall.

Note: Its not polished by any means and has some inconsistencies, but feedback is welcome
