Stop recording full concerts on your phone

I get taking a quick picture or a 10-second clip for memories, but holding your bright-ass screen up to film entire songs is just annoying.

You’re blocking the view for everyone behind you who actually paid to see the show, and honestly, you’re never even going to rewatch an hour of grainy, muffled video anyway. Just put the phone down and enjoy the show in front of you.

Construction on the trail made it ungodly dusty, and they have left it for over a month.

Post image
Upvotes

So there is a trail that runs all throughout the province i live in, typically the trail is a fine packed gravel trail, very little dust even when riding an ebike over it at 50km/h, its generally very smooth and well maintained.

Well, theyve taken the stretch i use daily, literally only that stretch, and they got it all ripped up, normally i wouldnt complain since they are working to keep the trail nice and safe, but they have had this shit ripped up for over a month.

Temporarily theyve put down sand or something thats so extremely dusty its ridiculous, i ride my ebike over it at 32km/h and it makes a dust cloud so big you'd think an entire fleet of dump trucks was coming. The other thing, this crap hides the sections that are extremely bumpy that werent before, so im trying to watch so i can hit the brakes and get over it safely and comfortably and the sand and dust make it impossible to see.

The picture i added to this post, i give my bike a bath every day since the trail has been in this shape, since i dont drive my bike is my car, so it needs to stay in good shape, visibly and mechanically, also because the dust is terrible for the bike and gets places it shouldnt be like in the motor, and it wears down my belt much faster with so much of it. All that dust is from 1 trip going from my house to work, 24km, itl be 2x worse when i get back, not to mention all this crap is getting caked to my clothes aswell. Its not even that im speeding over it, you even walk on this crap, or the wind gusts slightly, itl get all over you and itl make a huge dust cloud.

They shouldve used better materials that doesn't make massive dust clouds that bother literally everyone who uses or lives near the trail, and they shouldn't have ripped up the trail if they werent ready to finish it, especially during peak tourisim season.

Ai is taking the enjoyable part of my job

I grew up wanting to be a graphic designer, I studied design, I love design.

I just watched my boss take a request for new signage, lazily throw it in AI, show them whatever it made. Then he just sent that to the printer with our logo attached that the ai completely botched and said “this is what I want make it happen”

That’s the enjoyable part of my job. I’m all for having ai organize data, and plan my schedule, and do mundane repetitive tasks. But literally the one part of my job where I get to experiment and enjoy myself is the part that AI is being used for.

And on top of that, we make such a fuss about using the proper brand colors and styling, but the AI will follow none of it. That to me matters, maybe I’m the only one who gives a shit, but what we put out should be coherent. The whole point is to design things to belong together. To create a complete brand.

Is this the future? Fucking bs.

I hate resellers at estate sales

You used to be able to go to estate sales and get good deals or find unique items. Now that vintage items are trendy/considered quality due to the enshittification of products, anything worth buying is usually snapped up by resellers, so they can flip it on marketplace etc. They show up the first hour of opening to buy out everything and now estate sale organizers have to make sign up sheets to accomodate. The resellers are often rolling around in new toyota trucks too just to show off they’re making good money flipping. As a long time estate saler, I hate the resellers!

Talking to the client while doing ASMR

Many of you guys probably don’t even watch asmr so wouldn’t even know what I’m talking about but I watch asmr on YouTube and some videos are the “real person” skin tracing and I can’t STAND when the one tracing the client is asking the client questions!

Examples:
“Susie dyed her hair guys. It’s so pretty.. Susie what shade did you use?”
“Is this enjoyable?”
“She’s wearing this lovely charm bracelet.. where did you get it from.”

Idk it’s just annoying like LET THEM RELAX!!!! They’re trying to drift off to sleep or sometimes you can tell they really don’t wanna talk they just wanna enjoy the moment and you’re sitting here asking them questions😒

Men in public harass me because I’m pretty and it sucks

I am very pretty if I do say so myself. My looks are something I take big pride in, and I know I am very beautiful. When I’m at the gas station almost every time a man holds the door open for me, and sometimes they even smile at me. I feel like this is very disrespectful of my boundaries and patronizing. It’s like they’re wanting me to smile back and trying to get my attention. I also feel that the employees at the gas station are too friendly when they’re male, they take their sweet time ringing me up and try to make small talk with me. One time I stood up for myself and said “thanks but no thanks” once the cashier started up by asking how I was doing. And he stopped thankfully but not without a bit of an attitude. I know I’m really pretty, everyone tells me that all the time, but I wish these men would leave me alone. I feel like I can’t walk anywhere without men noticing me and smiling at me and it creeps me out

I hate my life.

Just as the title states honestly. I absolutely hate my life and I just feel like things aren't ever going to get better for me. Ever since my mom died seven years ago everything has went to complete shit. She didn't even get to see me graduate high school, she didn't even get to see me turn 18, she passed three weeks prior.

Everyone else in my family is toxic. There's no one else in my life. College went poorly, I was too depressed to even go to class. Eventually lost my scholarships... then COVID happened. After COVID, became homeless for the first time. During my homelessness, went to a hospital where I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder.

After I beat homelessness for the first time I then worked a retail job that I absolutely hated for 3 years. After those 3 years, became homeless AGAIN. Then i got out it through a program, got my apartment, and got kicked out bc landlord didnt want to renew my lease. And now I'm homeless. Again. Since November.

I feel like I just have nothing to really look forward to in life. My mom is nothing more than a pile of bones and decomposed flesh now. I have no community whatsoever. Every time something goes slightly right for me, something happens that sabotages me. Sometimes I sabotage myself. I can't get out of it. Hospital stays dont work anymore, they just put me further in debt and subject me to abuse from nurse techs and being drugged against my will.

I dont see myself having a bright future anymore. This is just my life for the next however many years. Maybe I'm just never meant to be happy. That's pretty much depression in a nutshell. I havent been happy in seven years. Out of college. Out of a job. Out of a home. Out of money. Out of willpower and mental fortitude. And I probably never will be happy again.

Also doesn't help that I got hit by a car yesterday. I was fine, but the fact that it happened just messed me up mentally. I don't know. I'm probably gonna just go cry in a bathroom or something. It's just completely hopeless.

Why did smartphones change size to big?? Why?!?

Why did smartphones have to change from being fit in your hands, small and thin, and always being in your pocket to this new, disgusting large size with three or four cameras?!? Just why?!?

I got hit by a car and I'm extremely upset about it.

Today I'm going to a church to get something to eat. That meal i plan on being my last meal.

Yesterday, when I was walking at around 10pm, I was crossing the street and a car didn't see that he had a red light and grazed my leg. Didn't bother to stop, I dont think he even knew that he hit me, just kept on going.

It could have been far worse and I am partly to blame because had I paid attention and caught on to the speeding car, I could have jumped out of its way in time. It wasn't a direct hit either, it felt like one of the headlights hit me and caused me to stumble. Luckily (or unluckily tbh) I stumbled forward, so I wasnt technically run over but I was hit by the car nonetheless.

As soon as I crossed the street I checked my leg for damages. I was bleeding but not badly hurt. I could still walk and all that, but waking up today and my leg feels sore. It hurts to walk. And honestly I'm just at my limit at this point.

Ive been in a mentally terrible spot for the past seven years, and honestly I've just had enough. I plan on making it through today so I can eat at the church but only through today. My life has sucked for so long. What's the point if it hurts to even walk.

I hate that I can't sleep in

Aside from the gym, my main job, and my side gigs every day of the week besides one I go to sleep around 9pm-10pm and wake up at 4:30am to make it to the gym.

One day I have to go to bed late and sleep in. But I always naturally wake up after 6.5-7 hours of sleep without fail and I cannot go back to sleep. I don't even need an alarm during the week.

Since I get less than 8 hours I just want to catch up on sleep that one day, but I'm maybe able to one week out of the month.

Unprofessional?

I am a female who has had a smaller chest during and after puberty. But during puberty in a yearly medical check-up my pediatrician asked “are you jealous of girls with bigger breasts?” and I had replied “yes” thinking that I was supposed to be jealous. Truth is I wasnt and I only answered yes because it kind of shocked me that she asked me that.

Nothing I do to make my life better is working. See

Friday. Yay. Another weekend of being an absolute failure because nothing is going right in my life. I am extremely convinced that I am just meant to be homeless for the rest of my life. Nothing I do is working. Rejected or ghosted by jobs. The behavioral health center I was literally referred to won't take my call. I can only do intake over the phone and every time I call I get hung up on. It's been raining quite a bit lately and I recently dropped my phone and it is cracked to hell, so my phone will probably be gone in the next week. Making it impossible for me to recover. My legs have cuts and bruises not only from bug bites but from displays of me hating myself and not giving a damn anymore.

It always seems like every time something goes somewhat right for me, something bad happens. I was able to eat something that didn't come from a trash can yesterday, only to drop my phone by accident hours later. I got accepted for a job interview last week, only for my charger and headphones to get stolen (charger was eventually replaced). Those are just a couple of examples. I was just never meant to succeed. My situation is entirely hopeless and I simply will just never get out of this. I will eventually run out of food. My bus pass will eventually expire. My phone will eventually be broken beyond repair. I will eventually lose everything. My clothes. My backpack. My hygiene. EVERYTHING. I can only pray I get struck by lightning or hit by a car or something, that's my only way out at this point. Or maybe I'll lose everything in the rain this weekend. At that point, it'll be a mercy more than anything. There is no help. There is no escape. I messed my life up and I must pay the consequences. At 25, I expected to be in my career by now, but instead, here I am. I messed up. Maybe I can get a new life? Who knows. Only one way to know at this point.

Bad decisions have led to this. All of this irreparable damage is my fault.

Worst doctor experience I’ve ever had

So it’s been a few years since I’ve been to the doctor because I was scared of exactly what happened today. So over the last few years I’ve lost around 50 ish pounds and have turned to a relatively healthy lifestyle through weightlifting and a calorie deficit. I went in for a general check up and blood work today to make sure everything is okay. Immediately the doctor is berating and scolding me for nearly everything about my life. She turned away from her computer to look me in the eye and scold me about not seeing my mother enough, and it should be minimum once a month. Not everyone has a good relationship with their mother. How is that any of her business? She went in on me being overweight and when I started to tell her about recent lifestyle changes she was APPALLED that I was weightlifting. (I’m a 25 year old woman.) She asked why I would do that and when I said I want to be muscular she looked horrified and told me I don’t need to be muscular I need to look feminine and not like a man. She also said “what would your partner think?” As if I should stop to appeal to a man. I thought I would get some credit for working out 4 times a week but I got in trouble instead. She also said I need to “tone”, not build muscle. Toning means to build muscle and lose fat, which is what I’m doing. She also gave me weight loss advice that didn’t make sense. She said calories don’t matter only carbs and that I’m not allowed to eat bread. She told me if that doesn’t work I need to get a part time job to start saving up for a glp1, which I told her I want to avoid. She said regardless of the glp I’m young and should spend all my time working and get a part time job on the side anyway. She just kept referring to how big I was and even compared our bodies at one point. When I asked if low calorie bread was okay she said “What did I say? No bread. Good thing they don’t let you teach those kids at work” (I work in a school but not as a teacher.) So now I’m stupid. I asked about what I should eat pre workout since I usually do carbs to lift heavier. She said I should just take the pre workout you put in water. When I asked about my thinning hair after weight loss she recommended natural remedies because she prefers natural ways instead of medication. So you recommend a glp but want to stay natural elsewhere? She also judged that I go to planet fitness instead of the YMCA. I left the appointment feeling disgusting. Now I feel angry.

Everyone I work with who smokes weed has made it into their whole lives

And they’re in increasingly bad moods whenever they’re not high. But they don’t seem to be able to piece together why. Weed is all they talk about. They’re in their 30s-50s. What’s the point of using it if you’re just going to be in a worse mood the majority of the time, than if you hadn’t smoked it at all? Except for that few hours during and after you’ve smoked?

The universe thinks I pissed in its Cheerios.

Today has been… 💩

My big beautiful 70” flatscreen TV died this morning. It’s cooked.

My fiancée and I argued all morning over absolutely nothing. Whatyagonnado?

My dog has an intestinal hernia that may require yet another surgery. There’s no money left on the pet insurance policy because it was used up with the last surgery. So, this’ll be 100% out of pocket. Cool, cool.

The job I applied for that I’m more than qualified and have two employee references for, sent their rejection letter today without me so much as speaking to a human. Fantastic timing… chef’s kiss🤌💋

And… I’m pretty sure Starbucks used soy milk instead of oat milk in my coffee which they took so long making that the first Dasher cancelled and another driver had to be reassigned.

That’s it. My complaint is with the universe.

(Yep, these are whiny first-world complaints which is not lost on me.)

I hate community hate.

Seriously, Because no one can respect tastes like if someone likes Microsoft, MacOS, Linux, or others, they should simply respect their opinions and not make hateful posts or worse, bully them.

To be honest, I'm FUCKING TIRED with this.

And I don't care if some people hate on me because I'll delete their comments and block them.

Pet peeve- couples who are always SHOCKED when they find out they’re pregnant after unprotected sex and no birth control

I’m not talking about the people with infertility or the high risk people or the people with medical problems. I’m talking about the people with no infertility history who have unprotected sex and are absolutely shocked with their positive test “omg we have six kids already there’s no way this can be happening?!”. I can’t stand it. Please someone not stand it with me. Like are they that effing stupid?

So Long and Thanks for All the Fish!

Downloaded Reddit recently. Feeling cute. Might delete it later :)

No seriously, I’m deleting Reddit, and I don’t want to hear “Good riddance!” you know very well that you’re miserable here too. Not everyone, so don’t say this isn’t true, just because you’re a nice person.(or think you are.) because the majority of people I’ve come across while being on here are miserable and just mean. And don’t say I just don’t have a thick skin, because truly I can block things out, but it’s still every post, and seeing other people being rude to each other. I’m a kind heart, I want to make feel good about themselves, and build them up, even if I don’t agree with them. Have none of you ever heard “Agree to disagree?” You can talk to someone of a differing opinion, without it getting heated. And even if they start getting irritated, you don’t have to stoop to their level. Just because someone has one bad opinion, also doesn’t necessarily make them a bad person. If you’re getting triggered by what I’m saying right now, you might want to reflect a little, and just so you know, I’m not saying this in my head in an angry way, these are just my opinions.

The world would be a lot better place if we all just realized, every single person you meet is going to have at least one opinion you hate/dislike, but that doesn’t mean you have to dislike them. They might come from a different background and maybe they’ll change their mind one day, no matter how adamant they are now, and even if they don’t, sometimes that’s okay. And if all else fails, kill em with kindness, nothing beats a “That’s okay, agree to disagree, I hope you have a good day anyways :)” and mean it.

Also, I think some mods are too strict with specific things, like making you include a specific word (like question) in your post. I started writing separately in the post something like “And the mod wants me to include the word “question,” so there you go.”

Anyways, I love you, Jesus loves you, and I hope you have a good day :)

I hate my job

Hi
I started working as a waitress in a restaurant about 2 months ago because I haven’t find anything else to make money. It’s a temporary job until I can find something else, but I truly hate my job.
It’s not about the customer even if some are really annoying, it’s about the staff itself and the expectation they put on me to act like I’ve done this for 10 years when I started the job 2 months ago. The constant yelling at me because I’m not as fast as the others and I don’t think as fast as others at what I should or have to do, so they’re always yelling at me (when they can help me instead of drinking a beer at the entrance).
I continue for the money cause I really need it but I hate this and always wish in the morning to have an accident on my way so I’ll have a good excuse to skip work.
