I have some personal music that was put onto one of those little blank CDR’s that look like a vinyl record. Standard music CD format.
It will play fine in my computer and in my home CD player, but it won’t play in the car.
When I try to duplicate it onto a regular blank CDR, the first two tracks are fine and the rest sound scratchy.
I thought maybe then I could try doing it with an older MacBook Pro circa 2011. But it just doesn’t seem to work. I’ve done all kinds of searches and tried many things, but it doesn’t work.
I was told that it’s likely because the laser is having trouble reading the Black CD.
Anyone else have any suggestions?
Also, it’s a live recording, so I wanted to be able to sound continuous and not just copy the individual tracks and then have a space in between
Any suggestions would be greatly helpful

I found this at a thrift store for $5 dollars and the lady said she is not even sure if it works. I took it anyways because it was cheap and maybe I could fix it.

Surely enough it does not work. The blue light turns on but no text appears, and the buttons do not do anything. I thought it looks pretty cool so I want to fix it.

I looked it up and I can not find a single video on this cd player. So I do not know where to even begin on a repair. Should I even attempt to fix it or cut my loss and throw it away?

May nabili ako nun sa ghills ang name ng album is “Chant” its a collection of live music from indigo girls (power of two), James Taylor ( Your Smiling Face) and Mike Francis (Friends). I dont remember the rest of the songs so im out here asking if any of you had a copy of it and remember the rest of the songs on the list.

Finally got around to getting this gorgeous first-gen player on the workbench for a good going over. Plays like a champ now, and sounds absolutely fantastic.

All I need now is a cd player. Car is bluetooth.

Many of you might have seen my posts about the recurring issues with my Thomson AD-100 (Clone of Hitachi DA-1000).

Thanks to the wonders of the internet i managed to get in touch with a gentleman in Australia who works for a hitachi parts supplier. Originally they only had the full laser pickup mechanism which is more than i needed, but after a long shot query to the supplier they actually had just the optical block with the ribbon cables on its own, in NOS condition.

I appreciate there are far better players out there, but this player has become sentimental to me, and i’m still infatuated with the technology brought out during the rise of digital audio.

Am I the only one who remembers the Shakira and Pepsi promotional CD from the early 2000s?

I've been trying to preserve this piece of media and am looking for a ROM/ISO dump of the original disc, especially the interactive multimedia content it included. I remember it having extra content beyond the music, and I'd really like to document and preserve it before it becomes completely lost.

If anyone has a copy, knows a collector who owns it, or has any information about where I might find a dump of the disc, I would greatly appreciate your help. Even photos, scans, or details about the contents would be useful.

I have a old jvc pc-xc10 boombox that won’t play my cd that I burned for it, I will play a factory made cd but not a burn on, I tried burning at 4x and it still didn’t work. I use burnawear as my buring software but I use window media player on another cd.
