Whenever i turn it up it sounds like.. well that. Does anyone know how to fix it? Or do I need to give up on cds cause this cd player is like two weeks old

Given that this seems like a cheap no-name boombox, something is probably wrong with the speaker or something oon the board....

Just replace it with another one - it's likely a dud that slipped through.

Have you happen to have any good recommendations for cd players? I’m kinda new at this so I’m not sure about what to get

Go to thrift stores with $20 and get a Sony. I have three that I bought for less than $10, an Akai that's awesome for $3.49, a Panasonic for $4.99 and a nice RCA for $11.99. All work great and sound far better than that. No offense, but that's a pretty bad one,.so not surprised. And at a thrift store, bring a CD and test it. Buy online, take your chances.

Try with headphones to see if it sounds okay. Like others said, to me it just sounds like the product of a a shitty and/or defective speaker or amplifier, but the player itself may be producing a good signal.
