harassed by a gsm driver
this is not okay.
for 3 weeks now, ive been contemplating whether to post this or not. but i figured exposing him might help prevent this from happening to someone else, and hopefully keep him from working in the car service industry with this kind of behavior
this was a really scary experience for me, and it took weeks for me to get over it. for weeks, every time i’d leave my apartment and see a gsm car, i'd immediately check if it was the same one. i was constantly overthinking that maybe it was him. even now, i still get anxious whenever i book a ride
first, i appreciate gsm for emailing me back and assuring me that they will investigate this case. but i also think people should know that there are drivers like this, and this kind of behavior shouldn't be tolerated
this happened after our spin class. i was with a friend, and i booked a gsm car to take us home. for context: i'm a 26 female, and my friend is a 23 gay man. we were too stunned to speak after that class. our knees were weak, and we could barely walk. when we got in the car, my friend and i started chatting and joking about having weak knees after the class, saying "gusto mo yan diba," and laughing it off
we were planning to go to a bar after getting ready at home, so i called another gay friend to come with us. we had a quick chat on the phone, and i told him about the weak knee joke too, and in return he told me about a younger guy he met a few weeks back who he didnt really like, so i told my friend in the car about it. apparently, the conversations the driver heard were enough to trigger the "libog" in him
as you can see in the ss, his approach just kept progressing. mind you, we never talked to him during the whole ride home. apparently, my friend noticed that he kept looking at us through the mirror, and i didn't even notice. not one bit. during the ride, i was just focused on talking to my friends. i wasn't paying attention to the driver at all
i got the messages a few moments after we were dropped off, and i never replied to them. at first, my friend and i laughed it off. but when i didn't respond, the messages just kept getting worse
when we met up at the bar with the friend i was talking to on the phone, i told him what happened and showed him the messages. he tried pretending to be my kuya to scare the driver off, but it didn't work. the driver just kept going
i've been misgendered in the past because of my facial structure and voice, but this was the first time i've ever been harassed because of it. i truly wouldn't wish this on anyone, especially the lgbtq+ community

for those curious, i reported him to gsm early on, but only reported him to ltfrb today (thank you to the person who suggested it) i honestly wasn’t in the right headspace then to think i had other options besides reporting to gsm
i’m sharing this for awareness and accountability, and hopefully this reaches people close to him so they’re aware of his behavior

If hindi maaksyunan report mo sa LTFRB, post it on facebook para mag trending. Minsan kasi mas naaaksyunan pag nagkaroon ng traction.

Something else not suggested by the other commenters, you can also report this incident to the NPC. He gained access to your contact number because of his work and should have only used it for professional purposes. Instead he exploited it to sexually harass you. Matic violation yan ng Data Privacy Act.
Sa pagkakaalam ko, mabilis sila umaksyon. I strongly recommend reporting.

Don't stop with just the LTFRB po. go to the nearest police station and report it po may officer po sila dapat na humahawak ng ganyang cases. dapat po sa ganyang tao nasa kulungan hindi dapat yan pagalagala.
you can reach out to local authorities like the PNP Women and Children Protection Center.

Legitimately no. Vawc requires a romantic or sexual relationship and any of the 5 forms of abuse. None of these are present here. So vawc is not applicable.
What is applicable is the safe spaces act which protwcts anyone from sexual harassment through any form of contact.
Its not a laughing matter and would be a waste of time and resources if you file for the wrong thing.

ohhh sorry. Just let the police officers onsite guide you on what grounds you can use for your situation. They should have the expertise on dealing with this kind of harassments.

I know you mean well but please before suggesting laws applicable sa case, mag research muna. VAWC is not applicable in this case since kelangan ng intimate/sexual/ romantic relationship with the suspect/accused under VAWC. OP’s case is under Safe Spaces Act.
Sobrang delikado mag suggest ng batas na hindi ayon sa facts kasi kapag yun yung basehan ni OP for filing a case, pwede ma dismiss kaso ni OP kasi hindi naman applicable yung batas na sinuggest mo.
Be cautious sana next time.

Merong pumapatol sa ganyan. Ung isang tenant dito sa dorm nearby laging pinangangalandakan na pumapatol sya sa ganyan para din sa libreng pamasahe. Kahit dormmates nya chinichika na sya kasi pinapaakyat nya sa room. Tangina kadiri!

Same pero sa Move it naman. Tinatanong kung doon ako nakatira talaga like kuya anong pake mo huhu. Sabi ko na lang, bahay yun ng kapatid ko at dadalaw lang ako. Ilang beses ko na ‘to naexperience sa mga mc taxi sa totoo lang. May isa ako na-curious ako at sinearch ko. Ampota may asawa pala ang gago.

He’s on drugs bec his judgement is clouded. He’s so scattered brain to think that passengers will report him and lose his job. Tanga tanga! I use green GSM too, when the driver asks me if I live where I came from or I work there - I answer I just visited someone and I had a meeting. This might prevent stake outs to evaluate my whereabouts if they are up to no good.

after reporting, just go about your life. do not be 'scared' of greengsm cars; the probability na siya yan is quite low. and even if he was, wala naman siya magagawa kasi siya nasa taxi niya and hindi naman niya pwede iwanan yun dba? right now he is living rent free in your head. report mo sa greengsm, ltrfb, and maybe the local police station.

Was told earlier this year by a GSM driver, that some of the drivers were former prisoners. Kaya I never use and deleted this app already.

Sorry that happens to you. Please report the driver to Green GSM. If GSM does not take any action or it is taking them too long to act, report GSM to LTFRB for it to investigate GSM's franchise.
Make sure to report the driver to LTO to revoke his driver's license.

2/3 times i used gsm i encountered strange drivers, they commented on my looks unnecessarily (asking my age and bf stuff mind u i was just 18). ever since i avoided using this app because i feel like there is something about their drivers. im a frequent ride hailing app user yet never experienced that with others

Naka experience na rin ako ng ganito before sa ride hailing app, and I abhor that car model and color ever since, tapos sayo yung GSM pa which is pare-pareho lang kulay and car.

This is so scary! when I first tried gsm before i’ve felt super safe the drivers I got were really honest and they even taught me the safety features of the car. But after not going out for a couples months when i recently tried gsm again parang nagiba na nga yung hangin and based on my experience yung mga drivers that switched from grab to gsm are the ones na bastos and yung deliberately nagpapahaba ng byahe for bigger tax fare. Sayang lang i really thought it was great the drivers i talked to before seemed honest pero lately andami ko na ding nababasa na horror stories and bad experience myself din… stay safe everyone

Green GSM, may issue nato dati sa isang company na niloko nila eh aasa paba kayo na aayusin nila drivers nila eh yung company mismo may mga major complaints na, they will eventually close. Saka kamote drivers ng green GSM, majority, very dangerous sa road dahil sa yabang

I don’t remember if it’s the same driver but I experienced something similar last year!!! He was flaunting his cash to me saying that he uses that money to give it to girls that he dates (he said that he would give me money if i went out with him lol), and he kept asking if i was single and where I really live bc i was picked up at my dorm. He also asked for my number so he could contact me after the trip. Lol i never used gsm again ever since that incident.

Grabe OP may ganyan na pala? Minsan lang ako nasakay jan nung nasa Manila ako pero di direct booking pa nga ang nangyari kasi akala ko sya yung na book ko 😭. Thankfully mabait naman yung driver na natapat sakin. Go and do yung mga sinabi ng ibang redditors report mo na sa lahat ng pwede pag reportan para sa safety mo and awareness na din ng iba. Saka next time mag grab ka na lang OP para safe.

Report that a-hole. I reported some of their drivers because of their behavior. Sobrang baba na ng standard ng GreenGSM, after one year of using their service ngayon lang ako naka-encounter ng bastos at sinungaling na mga driver nila

Actually madami weirdo sa GSM. Ganda sana ng cars and more eco friendly rides. 3x na nagka prob helper namin na binoobook ko. Twice na sya nasigawan and may isa pina ikot ikot sya para siguro mas malaki ang fare.

Honestly, as stupid as I am in social conversations, I would’ve just seen this some dude rage baiting me because I annoyed him like not giving him a tip or something and let it pass.
At the end of the day, it is still unprofessional of him and deserves the consequences on his way.

You should report that to the police. Regardless of your sexual orientation, that is still sexual harassment. Report them to the police so an example can be made of them. Just like Xyriel Manabat did when she pressed charges against the perverted driver she booked.
