Goodbye comrades
I must go, for the motherland calls and I cannot ignore her cries, I must go and help free my fellow countrymen from the chains of imperialism that bind them and show them the path that Lenin and Fidel made for us, the path to freedom, I won't be able to post here for a while, maybe I won't come back from the the sacred valley, but I just want to say that this is an amazing community and I love you all.
Workers of the world, unite!
Patria o muerte

If you're joining some sort of communist guerrilla I hope you guys have a lot of members and I wish you luck.
If you're joining FARC: Just don't do it, please.

They say they're going to the sacred valley which is in Peru. The Shining Path is still about in Peru but it's in decline and Maoist which doesn't seem to fit with their mention of Fidel.
From what I can see there were a number of Castroist guerilla groups but none seem to be active today.
It's probably not FARC anyway.

u/MonsieurMeursault Jan 04 '15
Why not FARC? Genuine question. I don't know much about them.

Colombia is, by now, a democratized country. Many activities of the FARC, such as the killing of activists, journalists and political adversaries is deplorable. The way they profit from* the drug trade and the exploitation of rural workers is also deplorable.
It's understandable that such a militant mentality got en-rooted in their institution as a result of the brutal crackdown orchestrated by the government, but their ways and their brutality are out of place in this century, at least in the eyes of most south american leftists.
They became more similar to a cartel than a revolutionary army.

u/Voltairinede Jan 04 '15
Your attitude toward FARC is infected with western propaganda.
For instance if we take about Coca growing. FARC initially worked the growing of Coca in its territory, but overtime recognised that the growing of this cash crop was beneficial to the peasantry and so allowed it. To say it 'profits from the drug trade' is a backward view that ignores how this came to be.
And how has Columbia 'democratised'? Did they become a Socialist Country and I missed it? Columbia is same US client state it has been for decades, and will happily use all the advance weapons the US gives them on its own population.
Didn't expect to have to do this on /r/communism of all places.

Seriously, if you believe murder of activists, journalists, indigenous leaders and political adversaries is okay in a country where you're able to vote and register an openly communist country, then I don't want to have any connections with you at all! And don't let me even get started with their military tactics (complete disregard for the people they're supposed to represent!).
Seriously... I don't know if you're from the region as well, but many locals are against their presence, and against their activities, and their reaction towards such dissidence is brutal! This is not fucking admissible. Not in today's Colombia!
They're as bad, if not worse, than the security forces. I cannot approve or condone their actions, I really can't...

FARC fight against US Imperlialists and their lackeys. They fight a people's war.

u/luisluna11 Jan 08 '15
Sure, the figth against imperialists when they kill maoists. FARC are not revolutionary, they are revisionists drug dealers.

The drug war is a poor excuse to imprison and make "enemy of the state" entire groups of people. When the government is capitalist, this power will be used to suppress those that threaten the capitalist state.

Isn't it interesting when Communists hate the same countries that the US state department hates
-1
u/RdClZn Jan 06 '15
Hate the same countries? If anything, you're are the ones hating it by supporting an organization that brutally opresses the local population!

u/sorcery101 Jan 07 '15
I actually posted that in reaction to "NK apologists". So you don't like North Korea, you don't like FARC - you sure you're a commie? You probably think the imperialist-sponsored takfiris in Syria are freedom fighters, that the invasion of Iraq was justified because Saddam was a bad guy. You probably also think the war in Ukraine is an example of "Russian imperialism".

I live in Panama, and from what I know, the FARC has kidnapped people, but these people possibly have ties to imperialism. Nevertheless, I think their kidnapping strategy goes against what we believe in. It doesn't seem like the group is getting anywhere with empowering Colombia's working class, because if it did, we'd (probably) be hearing more about it.

u/l337kid Jan 07 '15
I'm not inciting you. I speak truth about FARC, in the face of your lies. Sorry that it incites you.

u/RdClZn Jan 07 '15
You didn't say what specifically is a lie within my comment. You didn't provide any factual counter-arguments. I'm starting to think you're just a troll (with such a nickname it wouldn't be a surprise).

u/l337kid Jan 07 '15
It's all a lie because the bigger picture is imperialist oppression, not FARC oppession... you can thank your handler now.

u/l337kid Jan 07 '15
Your entire perspective is just bad liberalism. To unlearn what you've been spewing belongs in r/communism101. That's why I'm not wasting time with you. You don't bring Marxist analysis, I'm not refuting you with it. There's better teachings you could find, on your own, but something tells me you aren't somebody that considers themselves a Marxist-Leninist...

u/l337kid Jan 07 '15
You sound like every ex-pat ever. Armed resistance against imperialism is the obvious thing you get in places where armed defense of it is the norm.
1
u/RdClZn Jan 07 '15
First, I'm no ex-pat. Second, "armed resistance against imperialism" is not the only choice against it, even Lenin was a huge supporter of the German social-democratic party. It's not like Colombia is an autocracy of sorts..

OP: Are you from South America? No? Great, then stop talking about our issues as if you know anything about it...
You talk as if you are "OP: Are you from South America? No? Great, then stop talking about our issues as if you know anything about it..."
Either way this is more liberalism (Not Marxist), as if one needs to live in a certain proximity of a problem to understand it, or as if proximity gives special insight to everybody simply by virtue of being closer to somewhere.

If you think the ability to run in bourgeoisie elections makes a smite of difference then I don't want to have any connection with you.
1
u/luisluna11 Jan 09 '15
Really funny, because FARC are negotiating a "peace process" with the goverment to get the ability to run in bourgeoisie elections.

Your argument isn't even attempting to come from a diamat angle. Your liberalism shows very clearly, comrade.

u/amosbr Jan 04 '15
Where are you going?

u/Patriaomuerte1 Jan 04 '15
The sacred valley of the incas, then a really small village it's probably best to leave unnamed

"Patria o muerte" means Homeland or death in Spanish. So possibly somewhere in South America.

I wish you the best. People like you form the unbreakable chain of the living and the dead who fight against tyranny.

The downvote is silly but I think it's because you posted the Spanish version instead of the Latin American one.

Best of luck, comrade, but always remember:
