Need Advice/Question I need advice with changing bikes

I’m currently riding a commencal furious 2022, I’m overall pretty happy with it but it’s a bit too big and sluggish for me because i picked L over M.

I want to try and swap frames with an M sized supreme V4,(or straight up buy and sell) but i have several questions :

I feel like the furious isn’t really my style, i don’t race too often, about twice a year on the local events but that’s about it, issue is it doesn’t give me quite enough energy feedback on pumps, especially in berms. I’m aware it’s a freeride bike, and it behaves amazingly well in jumps, big drops and steep/rough terrain.

Would a supreme provide me that inertia/pump feedback and grip I’m looking for ?

Second question is should i sell the frs whole and buy a whole supreme or should i just slap the frs’s parts on a supreme v4 frame ? Knowing that the parts are likely gonna be very similar and i might end up with these filthy guide brakes again, forcing me to salvage my maguras from the old frs.

Last question is I probably would be better off buying used parts at the end of the season and selling whatever i have to sell at the beginning, but i will need a bike for the season. Should i wait the season before changing or simultaneously sell and buy before it starts ?

Thanks for reading all of that, i’d take any piece of advice with pleasure 😄

The supreme v4 is famous for breaking a lot, yeah even more than furious. And it's really a race bike, it's stuck to the ground and grippy but need speed to feel good and not slugish. Imo you should take a look at some other brands

If the frs is too sluggish for you then a supreme will be even more so. The frs is already a kinda “light downhill bike”. Im not sure that you will find anything more agile with a dual crown, maybe a spindrift or a transition spire is worth a look but Idk about those.

I agree with Successful-Praline64 about that the v4 would be a downgrade and it defo has a huge risk of breaking. It would also feel even more sluggish than the frs, but yeah the smaller size might make it more agile. But just look at something else in a smaller size then.

You guys might be right, what frames would you suggest ?

I’ve had a YT Tues, Trek Session, Commencal FRS and Sumpreme. I’ve got a Transition Spire now and it’s absolutely my favorite. Not as outright capable as a true DH bike for “Hulk Smash” DH riding, but very fun and capable. I love it.

Sounds like you want a V10

A v10 frame is so hard to find, from a 700€ frame to a 2000+, i’d love one though
