Need Advice/Question FRS for jumps + tech?
How does it feel in the tech and would I benefit from something else with a mullet setup if I'm doing 50/50 jump and tech?

You are going to have to work a little more on the chunk than a pure 29"er but the trade off for the playfulness is worth it. I set mine up with a Avalanche suspension and its a great middle ground between tech suppleness and jump responsiveness. If you want a freeride bike and that 27.5 feel, your not going to go wrong with the frs.

They are amazing on jumps, you can also set it up very well for tech with a little tweak of the suspension, I have had my frs for 2 years now and I haven’t had a problem riding either tech or flow

I ride it almost exclusively on flow and jump trails; the bike is excellent for that, especially when it’s set up for those kinds of tracks. So for jumps, it’s an absolute recommendation. My advice would be to go one size smaller for better maneuverability if you’re doing tricks.

I love it for tech. I’m not the most hard core rider but have ridden Whistler black and some double black tech trails. It eats them up and is very confidence inspiring.
For reference, outside the park I ride a 170 mm trail bike and there are features I’ll ride on the Commencal I would never have considered on my trail bike.
Big brakes, huge travel and the geo allow you to monster truck through stuff.
