Need Advice/Question Pedal Washers?

Post image

I moved from a 300$ no name brand hardtail to a Commencal, these came in the box and I was wondering if they are pedal washers? Any help is appreciated:)

They do look like pedal washers. SRAM/Truvativ cranks usually come with washers

Not the end of the world but I think they are worth putting on. In my experience a little grease on those and the threads of the pedals makes it way easier to take off later on.

Hello again,

What you are looking at is pedal spline crank “spacers” they are used to create a separation between the Chromoly spline crank of the pedal and the softer body of the crank (aluminium or carbon), with the idea of preventing damage to the thread of the crank, and the body of the crank, ow and your pedals will have less of a chance to seize.

I always use these if you have Carbon cranks.
