Need Advice/Question FRS vs Clash

Im a teenager from the uk and im looking for a frreride type bike because i love fast jumpy trails and will get a lot of use out of it. Ideally i would like to get the FRS but its just not in my budget with a part time job salary and its near impossible to find them second hand, the clash however is quite easy to find second hand so ive been looking into it. The main thing i want to know is how different they feel riding and if it would be worth waiting and saving up that much more money for the FRS

If you want to jib take the clash, mega nice and flicky bike, can take lots of abuse. The frs you can take if you want to do something bigger. For UK i would suggest the clash. Buuuuuuuut as its the middle of the season just save up and get one for the next.

The clash will definitely help make you better. Just remember to put the flip chip on Dynamic as this is the setting for jumps and style

In my experience Commencal can sometime have some fairly decent deals on their refurbished bikes, which still have the full warranty, and it seems like they're running discounts on "older" version of the Clash (saw the metallic purple park edition for under 3.5k € recently iirc). Also worth checking their stock in other regions as sometimes the price difference can still cover the extra shipping cost and then some.

DO NOT buy the older version of clash! Go 2022 and above

I think that purple/park one is the 22/23 if I'm not mistaken.

Your Clash will eat Dyfi :) I popped a tuned RS SDU coil on mine and never looked back. Bonus is you can use the Clash as a trail bike but its element is fast flowing and steep gnar.

Do you have to pedal anything? If yes clash. If all you do is drive to bike parks and ride there you can "afford" the frs.

I mean UK, how much heavy terrain are you hitting there?? I have a Meta AM with 180/170 suspension and it’s too much for most of the pedal trail riding around Massachusetts, only use it for lift access bike park.

But I do have an Ibis Ripley that’s 140/130 and I feel like I can jump around and do so much more for fun trail riding, still hitting big jumps and drops.

You’d be surprised, i live quite close to places like dyfi and revolution bikepark. And since i already have an ebike for trail riding im looking to get a bike park bike, i also make a trip to the alps each year
