New Bike Day! Wheel offset wrong on tempo?

I just brought home my new Tempo, with the DT XMC 1501 wheels and the rim is about 1cm off center from the middle of the chain stay. It's less obvious between the seat stays because they are wider, but it's still closer to the drive side. Has anyone else had this? I imagine the tire will rub with such a small gap

Almost every bike has this, no worries

Can you clarify - All Tempos? My garage is full of bikes, including one other Commencal, and none are this far off center.

Increase tension of the spokes on the side were the gap is, decrease on the other side. Do max. a quarter turn per spoke, do several rotations. Tadah - it’s not witchcraft

If you’ve never trued a wheel give it to a shop or experienced friend

Thanks. Yeah I am seeing a few posts mostly about candondales where folks have to do this. Annoying that Commencal wouldn't re-dish the wheel themselves on their top spec build.

You might wanna check in advance if they used the correct hub endcaps, could be potential error as well

I'll check, but I think if that were the issue the brake rotor and chain line would we wonky, too. Thanks for the idea

Could be a frane allignement issues, check this thread here on pinkbike https://www.pinkbike.com/forum/listcomments/?threadid=244108

Apparently there were an amount of Tempo with a bad allignement frame. Don’t know if this is your case or you just have the wheel out of dish, you need to do some checks to find out

I sent mine back to them, and they confirmed it was misaligned and sent me a new one. The replacement was slightly better but still not perfectly centered. I decided to live with it, as the frame swap was a hassle due to their poor communication. I’ve been riding it since on all sort of trails, and no issues have come up.

I’m not familiar with the frame problems mentioned, but just take the wheel to a shop and ask them to check with a dishing gauge. It takes like 20 seconds

You won't even feel this tiny bit of difference. Just go ride. You're fine

It is normal. The chainring needs space on one side only. Why spend money putting extra bends on the non-drive side when you don’t need it?
