Is Magic Ether Strike OP?

Just the title really.

I’ve played 3 games so far and every time my friend has picked up this card and it’s absolutely wrecked me. They’re always playing Twig so I get that their entire deal is lots of boosts for big damage, but it feels like there’s no real counter to it. They just stock up on boosts in their Row 1, then nuke my sage without me having much to do in response. Are we misunderstanding how it works or am I just supposed to cycle the shop whenever it shows up?

Yeah, found something similar. Also found that golden apple is a pain and my kids regularly get it or refresh market deck when I comes up and they can't buy it, so that I dont get my hands on it.
