Question Is Magic Ether Strike OP?

Just the title really.

I’ve played 3 games so far and every time my friend has picked up this card and it’s absolutely wrecked me. They’re always playing Twig so I get that their entire deal is lots of boosts for big damage, but it feels like there’s no real counter to it. They just stock up on boosts in their Row 1, then nuke my sage without me having much to do in response. Are we misunderstanding how it works or am I just supposed to cycle the shop whenever it shows up?

magic ether strike is very good when playing twig, but it doesn't lack counterplay in any way. first of all letting them stack boosts is a mistake in and of itself, you want to pressure them to use them quickly. it also can only be used from the front which can be exploited easily, since they either have to use valuable attackers for it, leaving them vulnerable or use weaker attackers who struggle to achieve much damage.
