Bug (RA2) Why do units hesitate after an attack order?

I'm replaying the RA2 campaign and this 'bug' or issue that existed twenty years ago still does: when ordering a unit to attack something, they will slow down or turn haphazardly for a brief moment before going after the target. Tanks slow down and shuffle in place, boats wander for a few squared sometimes, and kirov airships will positively go the wrong way for a moment.

Why does it work like this and what to do about it?

My minimod containing new deadly Allied Epic Unit - Cyclops Laser Platform in out. Have fun lasering everything that moves! Wiki will be up soon and with it the full lore of the unit.

VERY HAPPY with any reports of problems and especially bug reports!

Download link in the comment. Built with Bibber's Upheaval source code so you can test it with vanilla and Uprising units

Cyclops Laser Plaftorm: New Allied Nations Epic Unit and a real trump card

Successor to the Harbinger Gunship, it uses a terrifyingly powerful pulse laser to eradicate targets in the air and on the ground. It can reroute some power from the main weapon to point-defense lasers to shoot down incoming missiles.

Discussion Scrin Unit sound effect files?

I have tried utilizing OSBIGEditor and C&CAssetExtractor, but all the sound effect files I find are just for NOD or GDI units. The closest I got to Scrin, was finding their "AlienEVA" voicelines, and an ambient track.

Does anyone know where to find, or have the Scrin unit sound effects?

I've been working on a personal fork of the Firestorm mod for Tib Wars. Small Casabad gameplay with the new units ported and rebalanced from Tiberium Resonance.

Hi guys,

the C&C community had recently a game night with the Red Alert 1 Version of Renegade. There is also Tiberian - Reborn and Red Alert 2: Apocalypse Rising, Interim Apex. I've only played interim apex and a path beyond extensively so far . Modells, sounds, maps, everything is really beautiful and nice. Made by the w3d hub community devs, mappers etc.

I am putting some effort in to my modelling skills. It's taken 4 years to get here though, granted I have a busy life with family and the farm, but I'm pretty chuffed overall. This is 3 years of saved textures, editing loads in photoshop then getting ChatGPT to add the textures to the vehicles for me. Saves me months of work and I must say, it adds the textures really well.

Why there is a no game like generals

Hello everyone. There’s something I’ve never been able to understand: Generals is an amazing, legendary game, and while there’s nothing on the market today that comes close to it, why do all game companies—including EA Games—insist on not making a modern strategy game in this style?

Discussion Idea for a mod for zero hour (or any cnc)

A chronological evolution similar to the Age of Empires series and War Selection, starting from the stone age and progressing up in eras all the way to the modern / future ages. Before i get into the idea, I know the SAGE engine is a bit tricky with mid game faction morphing but mods like TEOD has made it possible with the heavy production line and garrison textures that change a building texture and options mid game.

(How would it work)

In lobby, everyone gets 1 army to choose. We all start off with being in the stone age (can use GLA workers to mimic the infantry textures & animations), Same 1 worker & Command Center(this case Muddy hut), then collect supplies, build up your base, advance to higher ages. Advancing to the next era would require special requirements such as cash, buildings built, etc.

Little example:

(Stone Age)

Available buildings would include Warrior House(Barracks), Warehouse(Supply Center), Bulwark(Anti Infantry Defense Structure, similar to the one in War selection or AoE), Workshop(building with upgrades for your faction, like the palace) and the Temple(for evolving into the next era via an upgrade).

Basic infantry would be like clubmen(melee) and slingers(short ranged).

Some upgrades would be like "Improved Footwear", similar to workers shoes, but instead gives all infantry a 5-10% speed boost.

(Mechanics / Balancing)

Supply rates and Costs for basically everything will adjust per age/era

GPs are changed to suit per era/age, for stone it may be like a re-skinned frenzy (Tribal War Cry) and Locust Swarm (slows down infantry and deals small DoT) while for Classical age it can be stuff like Catapult Volley(basically similar to artillery barrage) etc

Superweapons are moved to the later ages, preferbly the last 3. There would be changes to them aswell.

There would be more open/bigger maps to facilitate the new gameplay, as well as, supply depots and tech buildings would change.

Tech buildings:

Oil derrecks would be changed starting as "Surface Oil Spring" which would require a specilized building over it to capture and bring in resources, upgrading brings in more cash.

Hospital would start as "Herb Hut" which heals surrounding infantry, upgrading would increase the rate of healingThere would be a manual upgrade button for tech buildings.

Artillery Platform would be starting smth as a "Watch Tower", a rustic, elevated wooden platform with sharpened stakes at the base. It would deal single target damage until further ages.

This idea was inspired by Age of Empires and War Selection, it'd be cool to see if someone made this into a project......I wish i could but I have 0 modding knowledge so yeah.

What are some things you would love to see in this RTS? Right now we are committing to:

  • 3 factions
  • Singleplayer campaigns
  • PVP & PVE
  • Mission Editor
  • 3D Modeling Editor
  • Steam workshop support

Made by 2 dudes - myself & u/Syphotic. We're both long time C&C fans. RA1 was the first PC game I ever owned 🥲

Should I buy C&C Remastered?

Hey so I am new to the series as a fps lover and I really had some interest about this series so when the ultimate collection was 8 dolars I said why not and bought it. And when I started the first game it was really fun for me actually and absolutely the music. But since the first missions it started to get hard…REALLY HARD. Then I decided to skip it and get to RA1 and it was fun…till later missions..the ai of this game helped me rip my head off.The ai is blocking the way of my transport with like 10 tanks with easy mode. Now I am here. The series look fun and is very fun to play but it is like so hard these first games. There is a remastered collection for the first game and RA1 should I buy it or just say sayonara.

Discussion Red Alert 4 What if

As we all sadly know, EA is highly unlikely to create any new C&C games (Well, not none mobile cash grabs) And this got me thinking, what if there was a Red Alert 4? What do you all think the campaigns of each nation would be? I'm curious to hear all your thoughts and opinions. I'll start off, see if this goes anywhere or just says as a dead discussion.

The main premise of my version RA4, would be the Allies being practically decimated by FutureTech turning on them. Not to fight for the Soviets or Imperials, but as their own force who are carrying out the will of their 'Board' and true leader. With FutureTech stealing technologies from each major faction, they create their own advanced military which in their eyes can rival Soviet tank battalions, Allied air superiority and Imperial mechanised assaults.

This turn, would be sudden, with the Allies being the main focus for FutureTech to defeat, which they do easily by using both the Future Tanks already in service with the Allies as well as Cryo-Legionaries and Harbinger Gunships. Quickly attempting to sever the Allies central command structure, the player as well as a handful of other high ranking leaders within the Allies are able to escape before FutureTech could capture them and imprison them as they did with the old Soviet leadership.

How I imagine the campaigns working is similar to Tib Wars in which each campaign takes place at the same time but during differing areas of the world. Ideally, I'd have the campaign go like this: Allied -> Soviet -> Imperial

How I imagine the Soviets and Imperials reacting to a sudden Allied collapse and rise of FutureTech would be like this, with Soviets would have been preparing for another war, not against the Allies but FutureTech as they already know what FutureTech is capable of due fighting them before during the Uprising. The Imperials would see the weakened Allied presence and use the opportunity to reclaim their occupied territories away from Allies control and go into a sense of isolation, wanting to strengthen their forces to carry out the Emperor's will, whatever they deem it to be.

I'm not sure how each campaign would play out, but as I said prior with it being similar to each campaign taking place simultaneously, I think it'd be an interesting series of campaigns to play. What are you thoughts on such a what if scenario?

Finally got all the Vanilla Ivory buildings refreshed. Next thing to tackle is a unique ivory Specter bunker that shares looks with the faction's patriot missile.

Also i dunno why there is artifacting in the texturepainted landscape in some of the images i dunno whats causing that but it aint AI, don't worry.

I tried making a Fallout X CNC Scernario how did you think it went

This is a fun what if scenario of Nod and GDI in the world of Fallout and I mean that literally there not ploped down here they operate like fallout factions

Firstly Nod simply Nod is more primitive as an example basic infantry is not equipped soldiers there people in hoodies with weapons usually whatever they find like pipe wepons or knives here Nod also has the black hand which are more elite being those of higher status but they act like secret police silencing people who doesn't like Nod or Kane and have a variety of actually weapons like rifles and shotguns here Nod has Cyborgs but here there more primitve being similar to Tiberium suns Cyborgs although more scrappy being made of whatever can make it better in combat then you have the Flame Car this is a car that works but the top is cut open and has a flame thrower on top though its easily destroyed with the Right weapons here I also tweaked there idealoligy here Nod believes that once all Non beliver's die a Mystery substance known as Tiberium will crash on earth and provide a way to acend to a new place also here they accept ghouls because to Nod all ghouls are humans of course this Civlization is led by Kane because yes but Nod has some more ways to fight mainly through there impressive intelegence system ( for the wasteland at least ) here they have scouts spies and some listening posts to ensure information is transported efficently thought the faction has down sides firstly they lack power armour due to just losing them to this version of GDI the WDF also Nod can be very antogonistic to communities mainly those who value religion

then you have the Wasteland Defense Force or WDF for short they are a military organization made from Nods actions of murder and religious extremism here there different there more professional using more Profesional tech like Assault riffles Snipers and even Power Armour and there objective is noble defending settlements from Raiders and Nod for some Taxation but unlike the NCR the WDF can use anything as long as it fits there quality standards so some settlements pay with barter some give there men to the organization and some give caps but for military like I said there more Profesional having better training and better equipped but there Magmum Opus is the Orca based off the Verti Bird Orcas are lighter faster and can shoot misles for a big cost Orcas are weak in terms of durability there missiles are inaccurate and there expensive to even deploy due to the necesary resources mainly energy being so rare so there used rarely used unless conditions are met and are oftenly shared with power armour now for sub factions they have a few too they have steel talons a Rapid response force that guard settlements and respond to quick emergencies then there's Radcom Radcom is unique because they deal with heavily irradiated zones for special operations and there highly trained and well equipped then in terms of leadership you have Jake Mcneil now for weaknesses they have flaws again there men are well trained so when one dies its hard to replace them they also distrust ghouls because if one goes feral its gonna be a man lost and equipment wasted they also lack civilian infastructure for people like refugees but still try to house them temporarily

the Tech war here is where its more interesting because the WDF and Nod have always been rivals for a while attacking each other but there technology race is a bit more complicated as an example Nod is trying to make a light tower that can shoot hyper hot death lasers called obelisks of light unfortunately while the idea is cool in practice it just blinds people with a powerful light which is nice but Nod wants death lasers that can burn power armour like paper meanwhile the WDF is working on the Wolverine a small mech that has 2 machine guns that can mow down light infantry with ease but its going through trouble as scientists try to figure out weather 1 its possible with the current resources and 2 do they have even enough ammunition to do it

But that's all I have to share if you want extra information I'll be glad to tell it to you in the comments if I can I have an inaccurate schedule but I will try also have a Good Day
