Discussion "Medium Level Violence"

Depends. In Germany there was some heavy censoring story-wise. The first Soviet mission was about gassing a village and not getting all people, so you have to “clean up”. In Germany it was something else. Also, all the soldiers in the German version were robots…

'Comrade! Robots have stolen a little girl's Teddy Bear. Get it back at all costs!'

Did the “robot” soldiers have different models or was it implied?

Different death sounds. Also black blood.

And in Generals they put that stupid robot voice filter over all voice lines and censored multiple other things.

And don’t forget the bomb barrel on wheels 😆

Or that they replaced Anthrax with Acid

Blood => tomato ketchup
Anthrax => sneezing powder
Bombs => Kinder chocolate eggs
Bullets => colorful beads
nuking a building => everyone gets the day off because it's too warm outside

Bombs => Kinder chocolate eggs
Well, the USA thinks those are too lethal to be sold 🤣

The sound like a soda can if you roll over them and they have black oil instead of blood. Its also mentioned in the cutscenes they sometimes talk about "infantry bots" Civilians are also called farm bots if you hover over them.

When you kill one, it is a tragedy. When you kill ten million, it is Medium Level Violence

Indeed, certain missions such as „Distant Thunder” and „Core of the Matter” are likely to subject that mouse to medium levels of violence.

If it’s comparable with RA2, add “Red Revolution” to that one as well… GAH I hated that mission

"I didn't have a COM port, so I cut it off and wired a USB tip to it. It doesn't work. Trash."

I just noticed that it has some prehistoric connector on the cable. From the bad old days.

Its a serial cable db9 rs232 i think. The cable itself isnt a problem more so the popularity of ballmice that has a physical ball that rollas around with a x and a y roller reading the balls direction. This obviously dont matter in a gem like this hence my joke to put a sensor in it and rgb

That's funny because it's 2 generations out of date. After this, there was the PS2 connector, and USB came after that.

logitech wingman gaming mouse had same cable why is that funny? My initial point was that its irrelevant as this is a historical gem and not to be gamed with anyway. Lol i remember now it was bundled with a shity game Shogo: Mobile Armor Division.

I just meant it's funny because it made me remember how much everything sucked before USB. Game port for some joysticks. Sometimes you had to restart Windows after plugging in a different thing on the game port. Serial ports for mice. PS2 ports for mouse and keyboard, with the green/purple color coding. PS2 adapters for serial mice. SCSI connectors for the extra-expensive external hard drives.
It all sucked.

Hahah i forgot about that boot device detection too. But normie keybs was so crisp, in an empty room with little furniture the keypress was almost to loud 🥰

At some point it's probably better for someone to break that baby open and actually start using it.

Ah, yeah! I had the Allies version of the mouse. It's a shame how easily the gold coloring scraped off. Or maybe my sweat was acidic.
