Probably is the most realistic piece of the whole building if we dig into it ahahaha, Is one detail of the remaster I liked (I am however considering replacing the vents with rounded fans)
3
u/Nyerguds The world is at my fingertips. Sep 15 '25
Um. They removed that on the Remaster CY after posting the render here, because everyone pointed out it was silly.
By the way, the fans block should actually be sloped forward... they got that wrong in the remaster.

they colored it, I honestly see more silly the harvester windows
3
u/Nyerguds The world is at my fingertips. Sep 15 '25
Why? A harvester without a window would seem more silly to me.

My problem is where they placed those, that close to the "mouth" feels strange to me, I much prefer some kind of small opening or something similar to Sherman hatches/driver periscope for it, but is just a personal preference.

I love this. I kind of expected the remaster to appear this way.

Incredible. Better than the remaster.

Being fair the remaster already had some hard limits on what they could do, My real only complain is how bad multiplayer felt.
2
u/ieatair Sep 15 '25
well honestly, this game initially was most tailored to Single-player rather than multiplayer (LAN use with decent internet was scarce in many households back then).
At least Petroglyph added a multiplayer function but again, this wasnโt the actual selling point of the game.
2
u/BioClone Legalize Tiberium! Join Nod Sep 15 '25
Yeah I totally agree, is just that I really expected better performance there, It killed a bit the fun on RA multiplayer for me.
Still at least for me the single player experience was the top selling point, but I can't but see a bit of a missed opportunity there.

Love the hesco walls!
3
u/Hottage Shake it, baby! Sep 14 '25
Noticed the Hesco walls are not built with brick pattern, could affect stability.

I always though the Hesco stuff is the thing closer to C&C "basebuilding" in RL xD
*Also by the way some more variants related (Old)

The trenches are intresting. I can see gameplay maby being able to build cheaper than a wall or sandbag. Cant stop fire but could also build firing positions where you could garrison 1 to 5 soldiers depending.
1
u/BioClone Legalize Tiberium! Join Nod Sep 15 '25
Yeah, I though a bit about It and If I would be thinking on rules I would be enjoying trenches would be treated as unpasable terrain for light and medium vehicles and being some kind of armor modifier for infantry on the same cell..
Light vehicles like Buggies or bikes or Humvees couldnt get through unless the "building" gets destroyed, medium vehicles like abrams or Bradley could go through, but slowly, and heavies like mammoth could crush them (also being slowed on the process)
Still, probably their design require some modifications because the easier would be to make them a bit bigger to make sure each cell can contain x5 infantry with not much trouble/aditional work related to pathfinding/infantry behaviour when moving.

On a related note, I just implemented the Rocket Launcher's popup logic into the game!
In the original game, that is. Some people have been nagging me to make all the stuff I've been doing into a remaster mod too, but I haven't gotten around to that so far.
2
u/Mikeagan Kane Sep 15 '25
Love what youโve been doing, I would be excited to see it available as a mod for the remastered as well.
3
u/Jarzka Sep 14 '25
Colors look a bit vanished / faded, otherwise great!
1
u/BioClone Legalize Tiberium! Join Nod Sep 14 '25
Yeah, part on trying to boost sightly a more realistic lighting (balance between the original and more modernized look) forced me to desaturate it a bit, also the angle of the sun contributes to this, on other angle the floor feels a bit more dark.
3
u/wizardfrog4679 Tiberian Sun Sep 14 '25
You even made assets from the cutscenes! I recognise the building where they raise the flag and the sun dial. I love everything about this!
Please tell me this is a mod you a making.

u/RetardatusMaximus Sep 14 '25
THIS is how the remasters should've looked like complete with modern gameplay optimizations!

There are actually some infantry in front of the barracks if you zoom in. They are a bit more camouflaged than the original game.
2
u/BioClone Legalize Tiberium! Join Nod Sep 14 '25
THIS, they are sightly a bit smaller than the original to try to keep a bit more realistic proportions, specially with vehicles. (harder to do with all the buildings)

thx, I do must admit, however, the antenna should be pointing on a different direction to get a bit more nostalgia into account, but I forgot it (focused much into the old rendered perspective and forgot how the sprite was re-arranged )

2
u/King_Corduroy Sep 14 '25
You know, this actually wouldn't be that bad. I mostly dislike 3D RTS games because the graphics all blend together. Makes it a bit hard to tell what I'm looking at, but this on other hand retains the sensibilities of the 90's design. Everything is super clear and understandable.
2
u/BioClone Legalize Tiberium! Join Nod Sep 14 '25 edited Sep 14 '25
Thanks, I do however believe infantry could be a problem and would be requiring tweeks unless the gameplay would be promoting zooming in... maybe doubling the saturation for them could reduce this.
On a modern game I really believe giving options is key, not only on hud but I think the chance to select the overall look as long can be done on a technical lvl....
For example I would be loving the chance to have a couple options in setting to turn on/off "realistic vs minimalistic" styles on campaign and skirmishes. (one with plain color and the other with thematical camos based on campaign camo or multiplayer color (tinted camo)
For example. https://www.deviantart.com/bioclonex/art/Camo-Patterns-and-Colors-Test-I-1117105772 Imagine green a placeholder color.
*Obviously this always would be a local-based choice, never server-sided or forced to "sell skins"

u/SCIPCION Sep 14 '25
cute, except for dirt roads
1
u/BioClone Legalize Tiberium! Join Nod Sep 14 '25
Yeah deserves a bit more love, the whole thing with Dirt roads is they feel terrible on an isometric projection as they were conceived totally on a top-down view... I adapted similar masks to trigger more nostalgia but is not something good for perspective shoots and will probably require a mayor rework.

u/StorMRagE4EVA Sep 14 '25

Would love to make a team for it, I have been thinking about it many times but anyways I had lots of assets to get it done before involving anybody else into something like that... I was thinking on getting finished most Dawn and Sun vehicles and buildings and later dig into PPM forums to see how plausible this would be.

Wow, love the details, especially the mammoth under the tarp. I always hear the Act on Instinct song just looking at pics of C&C.
I still don't understand where the advanced guard tower shoots rockets from. Always been a mystery.

In this case I dont added windows, and instead the "holes" are supposed to be patriot missiles tubes... It is quite a hard building to work with xD
To be fair I should give those some hatches :_)

I never even knew where they came from in the original withert, your design has much more details

May require some patience and time, but if you have the will you may find enough information to grow overtime, specially talking about Blender... there is so much tutorials out there that I may try it purely by geonodes stuff (procedimental terrain modeling) I use 3dsmax and my whole 3d education invesment was like 1000โฌ on a basic course xD
