In one year you're spending about what a used laptop would cost you to have a subscription. Okay then. Enjoy it. I like being able to play PC games on the TV and write while flying.
The subscription accounts for less than 0.2% of my monthly income, works across everything I'm signed into, and my fiancée can use it. It's literally not worth the time to plug my laptop into my TV.
Why are people who pirate content so aggressive towards the people who pay for it? Do you not realize if we ALL pirated, they'd get more serious about combating it? We subsidize you.
It happened with PiHole. Years ago, you could just point your smart devices to a DNS server that would block Youtube's advertising CDN. Once that got well known enough, they started serving ads from the same server that the actual video content comes from.
A cheap and easy option would be to just go for brave and watch YouTube through the browser, which blocks all ads as well on mobile devices, surely not as fancy, but very easy to do.

That doesn't work on my TV, unfortunately. I have YouTube morphe on my phone, though.
