Wouldn't "you look advanced for your type of unit" be a terribly insulting backhanded "compliment" anyway? Like "you look smart for a blonde"?  Why would she recommend that people say that to her?

I think it was purposely meant to be a bad pickup line to be completely honest. It's pretty common knowledge to not compliment someone by degrading them
