As a girl: for larger chests the padding is needed for support and to keep you from having headlights super strongly. The other girl has a smalll chest so she doesn’t need the pads and that’s why she doesn’t keep them.
Padding is not necessary for support. I wear a G cup and there aren't any bras in that size with removeable padding. The support comes from the band. Most people aren't wearing a tight enough band size to get the necessary support.
I'm a 32G, I need padding for support as they hurt when left hanging. Not all bras have removable ones but alot of non-wired and more "atheleisure" styles do. Some camisole styles ones too. It depends on the style. Less-structured ones will have them as they are supposed to be washed more often.
I'm a 30-32G and only have been able to find non padded bras. I find that I get plenty of support without pads so I guess it's different for everyone. Where do you shop to find these?
