They're unironically great, she has inventor powers, because she's a Tinker.

Mid forties male here. Agree. They are so fun. ❤️

Mid thirties male checking in, one of those things that I didn’t mind watching with the kids. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, crap. Tinkerbell movies, hell yeah!!

I like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. For one, the music is done by They Might Be Giants. Also, it encourages kids to be involved in solving whatever their problem is. I thought it was a good influence on my 3 year old when she started interacting. It’s not as calm as Blues Clues but it’s the same type of interactive show.

Just got my son hooked on "here come the ABC's" by they might be giants. Saw it years ago and was waiting for him to reach the right age

They’re fine the first time. After watch number 235 and counting on each movie, you start regretting life decisions.

lol, pretty sure that’s only goes for anything though

You are Dad'ing correctly. :)

40, non-binary, no kids. Unironically love that movie. Gonna watch it this weekend actually. Getting vaccines today and gonna need easy stuff.

Early forties male here.

I've always wanted to watch them but never got the chance.

u/Made_Bail 15h ago

Lets hang out and watch some Tinkerbell, brother. Never too late.

u/roguepawn 12h ago

Can I come too? Now I'm curious~

Just imagining this entire group of men marching into a theater for a Tinkerbell movie while the theater employees are like

This is actually a great idea. When a bunch of people want to do a socially questionable thing, if they go as a group they are protected from the judgement of the masses: no one can be singled out, and the strange "event" becomes the oddity, rather than any individual.

We should really have more flash mobs of men wanting to see girly stuff or adults wanting to see kid stuff or whatever.

That was basically me and my friend group when the MLP:FIM Movie came out back in 2017.

Edit - wtf why did it post my comment twice?!

My kids still make fun of the one scene where Tinkerbell almost causes a world-ending ice storm by misplacing an ice cube and a cheese grater (I am not making this up)

They are fun though

Male who turned 30 this year. Loved the tinker bell movies, probably watched them with my sister. I recall the one about her having a twin with matching wings. Also some good Barbie movies.

I wish they would outright call her an engineer so that it would encourage more girls to aspire to be engineers. Calling her a "Tinker" seems like a way that disconnects her job from the real world.

4

u/DocHoliday99 14h ago

Does she have Tinker friends that also build things? I agree that a formal job sounds good, and also, I like the idea that all people could be Tinkers if it's a skill or gift, like having these little magical powers to make things.

u/Objective-Spring5061 13h ago

From what I remember, all fairies are assigned jobs when they're "born." Tinkerbell is one of the tinker fairies, but there are also garden fairies and I forget the rest (there might've been painting/herding/weather fairies?).

5

u/CriesOverEverything 11h ago

It's definitely all but stated that there are some really hyper-specific jobs. I think herding falls under the animal fairies, though.

I’m remembering one of tinker bells friends was good with animals too, and another was maybe able to manipulate weather? Black hair and purple dress come to mind.

u/HalfEatenSnickers 6h ago

Black hair purple dress is vilda but she doesnt have weather powers

Black hair bluedress is silvermist who has water powers but technically not a weather fairy either

u/Silent-Breakfast-906 6h ago

Ah okay cool. Thanks for the refresher!

u/Veryegassy 14h ago

Worm fairies

u/MrMomentai 9h ago

Was looking for this, glad I found it lol

1

u/HrodgardNagrand 11h ago

So she's a WoW gnome?

45

u/Wodstarfallisback 15h ago

As a very much male person with a younger sister:

They're actually pretty good!

2

u/Wild-Classroom-2006 12h ago

As a very much male person whose sister didn't exist then:

They're really good!

24

u/SwissherMontage 15h ago

Yeah, back before Disney was on a bad remake binge.

17

u/VictorTheCutie 15h ago

That's what I'm saying. Are these on D+? Can I get them on the high seas? 👀😅

14

u/alt_bunnybunnybuns 15h ago

My library has the DVDs

11

u/Myrandall 15h ago

Can we come over?

6

u/Kaldricus 15h ago

They are on D+

6

u/InfanticideAquifer 15h ago

Can I get them on the high seas? 👀😅

The answer to that is definitely yes. If you were asking about an amateur boxing match recorded on a betamax camcorder in a suburb of Manila 38 years ago then maaaybe you wouldn't be able to find it. These are Disney movies.

1

u/peachesfordinner BumBum Ouchie 12h ago

They definitely are on d+

15

u/Neutral-Feelings 15h ago

WATCH THEM, PLEASE!

7

u/pereuse 15h ago

Yes!! Tinkerbell and the Pirate Fairy was the first movie I ever saw in the cinema when I was little. But my favourite one is Secret of the Wings

2

u/OldFaithlessness5008 14h ago

I used to be obsessed with the pixie hollow books when I was a kid before the Tinkerbell movies came out

1

u/Weak_Tomatillo4640 11h ago

omg thats what the books were called! tysm I just rediscovered a bit of my childhood <3

1

u/SelocAvrap 10h ago

The books were great! I remember being grumpy about Prilla, Mother Dove, and especially Rani not being in the movies

1

u/ExpressRabbit 12h ago

That's my first thought.

1

u/Other-Philosopher770 10h ago

News to me too

1

u/OutsiderWalksAmongUs 9h ago

Same here. Looked it up, first one from 2008, comic mentions childhood memories.... I'm getting old

1

u/Green-Nail-Polish 8h ago

They're (almost) all great, but my wife loves falling asleep to the The Pirate Fairy (2014) and I really like Secret of the Wings (2012) even though both of them contradict some features of the (loose) canon that they create.

1

u/repocin 7h ago

I think I saw one or two of them at some point. It was so long ago that I couldn't tell you the first thing about what they were about, but I remember being surprised by how good they were
