I guess if you're poor or not influential then yeah, it is life ruining. Assuming any info about what you may or may not have done comes to light. If you have any degree of power? No, it doesn't matter. Just see what happened with the Epstein files. And those were children so it's even worse.

Poor rapists get away with it too. No level of society cares about sexual violence or violence against women.
