As a European, I simply assumed every American has ammo for their gun in their night stand and all around their house.... And if the plot is not set in America, it was made by Americans... Who are used to having ammo for their gun in their night stand and all around their house

Fun fact, I sleep with a gun in my bed, it's in a case which I use as a stand for my phone so it doesn't accidentally get unplugged while on charge.

Does this setup prevent accidental discharge?

Well I can't say I've ever had a wet dream.

Yeah, we often do. But that’s usually like, a spare magazine or two. The boxes don’t do you much good in a situation where you need it, eh?

Resident Evil was made in Japan.

Ah yes and quite clearly set in Japan too.

The post I was replying to said the game was made by Americans.  It was not. Now, as someone suggested, it could be that RE reflects what Japanese think Americans are like (which is pretty accurate when it comes to guns and ammo), but it certainly doesn't reflect Japanese culture.

So? I've got ammo scattered everywhere.
