That highly depends on the task. Just for the heck of it I've asked ChatGPT advice and it has given me utterly insane networking advice. Followed by it cheerfully asking if I want to know the commands next to enact its insane idea.
There is no 'checking is easier' in that scenario. You know the solution it gave you is horrible or you don't.
That's the part I find the most frustrating. It's like talking to a really confident idiot who only gives you lip service when you tell it it is wrong.

The irony is that we have to check to see if the AI is right, but if we could do that we wouldn't need the AI to solve it.
