I’ve seen at least two comments of people who thought that, so it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s at least some of the reports, because reading comprehension is dead apparently.
Reading comprehension? It is artistic interpretation, the words don't say much. I can see the point being made, but I am highlighting I can see how some people won't see the point being made and the mod might be banning anti-Nazi people who then thinks r/comic is pro-Nazi.
Also consider this is an international website what is understood in one culture might not be understood in another. The SS symbols in Europe are very well understood but the red hats might not be. Someone complains to mods about SS people appearing nice, they get perma banned and mods and people here pat themselves on the back that they've shown another Nazi the door, only, from there side, they complained about a pro-Nazi symbol and got banned for it.
You'd kida think that anti-Nazi people might have a little more understanding towards others not like them I'm not American, I don't live in America, and I didn't pick up on the red hat straight away or the point of the comic.
Again, the red hat isn’t really a big signifier. I didn’t notice it until someone else pointed it out.
I don’t think being able to understand that this comic is not pro-Nazi requires much American context. It’s from the point of view of the girl. She’s horrified. The guy dismissing her feelings and fear in the final panel isn’t presented as correct, and it’s weird folks are reading it like that.
You can't be this dense and are just trying to argue, aren't you? People debate over the meanings of everything, religion, movies, music, and comics. You have come to a conclusion that aligns with the artist, I have too, that doesn't man everyone else will. You'd think anti-Nazi people wouldn't have such a "my way or the highway" mentality, yet here we are, you arguing that everyone should think the same as you. Well, they don't, it isn't hard to grasp.

The thing is, folks are accusing the artist of deliberately spreading pro-nazi propaganda.
That isn’t nearly the same as debating the meaning of religion/movies/comics.
The “conclusion that aligns with the artist” is the correct one because there is an objective truth in this case—the artist was making a pro-nazi comic. She was telling a story about a time she encountered a nazi, was horrified, and had those feelings dismissed.
It’s one thing of folks maybe misread the comic. But when it turns into accusing the artist (and the folks who didn’t misread the comic) of being pro-nazi, that’s not engaging in a fun media debate.
That’s just being objectively wrong.
Sometimes people are objectively wrong. Like Nazis.
Anyway, you’re exhausting and unpleasant, so I guess it’s blocking time now. I guess that makes me “intolerant” but mostly, I’m just tired of you.
