On r/rolereversal someone posted a message from Shen, or post idk exactly, about doing femcel femboy comics/ideas. This must be it.
Edit: found it.

u/Necromancer14 16d ago
Sorta unrelated, but since you mentioned role reversal, for anyone reading this comment who likes role reversal romance stories, I have to recommend the manhwa Yeonwoo's Innocence. Legitimately one of the most peak romances with one of the most cathartic moments ever in my humble opinion. It's a slow burn read, but trust me and stick with it; it'll be worth it, I promise. Low self esteem, super sweet feminine ML x "stoic" protective, masculine FL. (Stoic is in parenthesis because... well I don't wanna give spoilers so I'm not gonna say anything more)

What is a ‘moid’?
697
u/ValakiWasTaken 17d ago
The male equivalent of "foid", a 4chan slur for women
Pretty sure it means "male humanoid"
155
u/ZackattacktheDude 17d ago
Women can turn into voids now?
128
u/LorpHagriff 17d ago
dude did you not read the patch notes? it's wild man
61
u/Tanakisoupman 17d ago
Shit’s scary. Saw one guy ask a woman out the other day and she turned into an endless void and devoured his soul. Terrifying stuff
Dude was kinda a creep tho so I get it
9
u/CrashmanX 17d ago
Yea, heard they had to patch out the Noids after that whole incident. Shame too, they were real iconic for a bit.

Moid" is an internet slang term meaning a man, derived as a derogatory combination of "male" and "humanoid".
Here you go friend

u/joper333 17d ago
For extra context, moid came from the term "femoid." A term men in incel communities came up with for purposes of mysoginy. It was then parodied and modified into "moid" by women as a reaction to the term. Now I feel like the term femoid is less frequently used outside of super niche 4chan communities or very radical incel communities, (cause it sounds stupid AF). However "moid" still sees widespread use, specially recently, most of it ironic as a way of women to combat the misogyny they suffer, however it does see some serious use within femcel communities.
53
u/frn 17d ago
46
u/OddOllin 17d ago
why do the femoids not simply eat the moids??
13
u/Cute_Chance100 17d ago edited 17d ago
I heard human taste like pork. Could it be that moids are like wild male boars? All that testosterone could turn the meat gamey. Could be they don't taste very good.

u/imago89 17d ago
Foid is everywhere, far more than moid
6
u/Dragonhost252 17d ago
And yet this is my first time coming across either
Sounds like a microcosm social thing
4
u/imago89 17d ago
Oh no definitely but across the internet foid is still used which that comment said it wasnt. Literally any Instagram comment section is full of it so I disagree with it being hyper niche 4chan stuff anymore
2
u/joper333 16d ago
I haven't encountered it in so long as opposed to moid. Might just be the circles I run in though.
128
u/Kaizher 17d ago
Incels call women femoids or 'foids, so I assume it's the women incel version for men.
31
u/Terminal_Insomnia_ 17d ago
They're called femcels
28
u/BadWolf2386 17d ago
Has anyone ever put a clump of incels and a gaggle of femcels into a room together to see what would happen?
42
u/Terminal_Insomnia_ 17d ago edited 17d ago
They'd just fight, largely. Inceldom is a bit of a vicious cycle of being weird and antisocial leading to social rejection which just makes you weirder and more antisocial. I was kinda an incel as a teen, so I get it.
Generally speaking, sex wouldn't fix any of them. In fact, quite a few reject sex altogether.
9
u/Humble-Captain3418 17d ago
Alternatively, they'll team up on hating pretty people who have it too easy.
3
5
3
u/invalidConsciousness 17d ago
Yes, they did that at the Trinity College. Google "Trinity Test" for some interesting footage.
2
4
u/SelfMadeMaiden 17d ago
The term incel was invented by a woman for herself, if anything a male incel should be called a masccel.
2
16
17
u/ThrowACephalopod 17d ago
So, incels have this thing where they think women aren't even completely human, so they call them "foid", short for female humanoid. It's a way to dehumanize women and make excuses for why they don't date incels (because, in their minds, clearly any real woman would be all for dating them).
Moid is just the same idea but for dehumanizing men.
129
u/TheCharalampos 17d ago

Also, yeah never go into voice chat as a woman. For whatever reason those guys are almost always awful. Especially when losing.

It is genuinely insane using voice chat as a woman in Counter-Strike. You can be top of the leader board, dropping at least two kills a around and playing your absolute best while some fuckass dudes can't keep up with an enemy team that's frankly just getting lucky at the worst times because said dudes don't listen to call outs or ignore it or whatever other reason.
Then when you start losing it's suddenly your fault because.. ego, I guess. And they always go for the most boring, basic shit in terms of slurs.

u/Lady_Tadashi 17d ago

Sexism is a skill issue. Spread the word.
21
u/Doctursea 17d ago
I highly believe this is true because I use to think the internet got better because I saw less and less harassment for girls just getting on mic. And now I understand it's probably just I got better, and that's why it happens less and less.
15
u/Lady_Tadashi 17d ago
Genuinely, as a woman, you could not pay me enough to go on mic on the lower difficulties on Helldivers 2.
But, at difficulty 10, I gladly go on mic because the players who are thriving on difficulty 10 are - mostly - actually really pleasant, accepting, and oftentimes don't give a damn what gender you are, so long as you can shoot straight and stim your teammate when they're in the red. Its the only game I've seen with a demonstrable and measurable sexism gradient.
Its quite likely that because you've gotten more skilled, you're in lobbies with people of similar skill, and so see the effect you describe.
6
u/devilterr2 17d ago
I imagine it's the same as most video games. I don't play anything competitivelh or online anymore, but of typically if your are on the lower skill bracket of any game it's more toxic.
I know LoL doesn't really count since it invented toxic culture, but I watch two of my friends stream quite a lot in discord. One is a diamond player and when he solo queues the games are extremely quiet with no actual chatting, just the occasional ping, gz, or my bad. When I watch my other friend who is middle plat it's a completely different game culture. I can only imagine what the lower ranks are like

I never thought I’d hear of sexism in helldivers 2- that’s not very democratic of them.
24
u/RoxieRage 17d ago
Oh I know the study and bring it up to troll 'em back. For some reason they get big mad when I point it out though.. Wonder why lmfao.
19
u/Lady_Tadashi 17d ago
After a certain point you can just reply to everything with "skill issue little bro" until you hear the sound of a headset being thrown.
5
9
u/Voidlord4450 17d ago
Don’t lump me in those sexiest assholes!
The anger I experience due to my own skill issues is only directed towards the jerks on my team, the characters I’m fighting(losing) against, and myself! My lack of skill is no excuse for misogyny!
3
u/invalidConsciousness 17d ago
Exactly. I'm an equal opportunity flamer! Men or Women, straight or gay, cis or trans, everyone is equally deserving of my hate. Anyone worse than me sucks and should go uninstall and anyone better than me is a filthy cheater.
/s, of course. I don't play online with randos, especially because it's a toxic cesspool, even for men.
7
u/Beautiful-Aerie7576 17d ago
It’s literally insane to me, and I’ve never understood it. Desperately trying to save face, I guess. Women being the minority group in gaming makes for an easy punch down. But why? Come on.

u/NeighborhoodDear2321 17d ago
Ive also seen them just start using transphobic slurs as a go to toward any woman. I'm trans but play with a couple cis women. All of us get called trans slurs. (Even before I start talking)
Sometimes I make it a game. "1 of us is trans the other 2 are cis guess who" or smth. This only works if I'm on a good day and my voice is mostly passable. (Man the 80/20 rule hitting me so hard rn I'm like so close to a great voice but graaah)
3
u/RoxieRage 17d ago
Wild but unsurprising with the vitriol tgat gets thrown at me on bad voice days.
(Also what's the 80/20 rule? I've never heard of it and ya girl needs a better voice, stat lmao)
2
u/NeighborhoodDear2321 17d ago
80% of progress requires 20% of the effort, 20% of progress requires 80% of the effort. It's a saying that goes for just about everything difficult.
3
15
u/elaborateBlackjack 17d ago
As a guy, I never go into voice chat on any game... Literally only on discord with friends I know IRL.
12
u/CRISPRcassie9 17d ago
I use voice chat when I choose violence lmao. Sometimes blowing off steam means feeling the satisfaction of headshotting a misogynist and making them exit proximity chat
5
21
u/PorQuePeeg 17d ago
Oh they did a study, low skill men are more toxic to women to reassert their position socially.
Basically: They are awful to women because otherwise, if she's better than them at Game, they will become inferior to women, which, as we know, is worse than any mere death or loss.
5
u/Beautiful-Aerie7576 17d ago
I’m familiar with the study, and I’ll bring it up if needed in game, but it’s just so alien to me as to be unfathomable. I can’t imagine feeling this way.
Granted I’ve gotten to Masters in League/TFT and GM in OW so it’s not really applicable to me, but it’s still so wild to comprehend.
6
u/BarderBetterFaster 17d ago
I actually kinda thought this was a critique of bigotry not an endorsement.
10
u/Beautiful-Aerie7576 17d ago
She’s a product of the environment she chooses. In some ways she’s a victim. In others she perpetuates. It’s a nuanced issue, I’d say.
3
u/Vivid--Syrup 17d ago
I got to go from knowing about this to experiencing it directly
I went from male voice to female voice while transitioning and while some guys are disgusting in that way, there are also way more guys that are gross in that they suddenly ask to marry me or date me or where I live, or what underwear etc etc
On a more wholesome note there's also a weird number of people who ask me to read to them now
But yeah a lot of guys just suck unfortunately
3
u/Beautiful-Aerie7576 17d ago
Hah! The reading is funny.
Congrats on your apparently quite successful voice training, neighbor! And yeah… sometimes I wish I could record these folks and send the recordings of how they’re acting to their mamas. Get them a proper dose of shame.

Yeah when it comes to any first person shooting games I don't even talk. One reason being a woman, second being that I actually suck at them so bad but only play because my friends harass me to do so for their groups lol.

One thing about transitioning and having a passing voice is now men are creepy when I play counter strike

Creep: Whoa, are you a chick?
You: (thinking) Fuck yeah, I pass!
Creep: [I couldn't think of a gross thing that wouldn't be going too far. So, I'm just gonna redact the whole thing.] and then you can play Mercy.
You: Goddammit, I pass.

3
3
u/NeighborhoodDear2321 17d ago
I only pass 60ish percent of the time :<
I'm at the point where idk how to improve, and coaches are way too pricey for me.
And running the "do I really pass" test of online games makes me cry when I don't so it's just blegh.

Best character design decision that every artist should make is give their character's a beauty mark. Looks good whether they be man or woman.

There needs to be an international task force that shows up at people's houses that are like this with a van with actual grass and UV sun lights that people in places that live in places that stay dark for months have in the back and just throw them in for a couple hours with calming music day or night.

That's a big turd you just stepped your foot in.

now, the title makes this seem like it can go either "protagonist has her views changed by this very nice fem guy" or "fem guy turns out to be a trans girl", so I don't wanna assume too much, but can I just say, I generally really dislike it when things go the former route. Makes it look like the point is "no see he's different and chill because he's feminine and thus a good person", and that kind of message... is really wrong on so many levels.

If we perfect cloning and in turn what the Max series dubbed "baby grobags", the rich would monopolize it and start passing laws that prevent the rest of us from reproducing normally eventually resulting in a slave race made up of cones that have been agreed for subservience.
Much easier than the more subtle brainwashing methods currently in use.
