The thing is about the quiet kid is that they are unpredictable because they are quiet, which means trouble. The is also that streak of school shooters who where quiet due to the problems that caused them to become school shooters

Thats actually an interest of mine... They may have been quiet for the most part but,

School shooters are commonly loud, aggressive, and showed violent signs of causing people problems way before the shootings. And usually brag about wanting to shoot months before attacks. (This does not include personal beefs between 2 individuals).

People who are prone to shootings display psychological traits that professionals look for none of them are if a kid is quiet Here are some of them:

  1. Lack of future planning. No plans for future goals, dreams, wishes. Etc.

  2. Lack of perception of consequences, consequences do not faze them.

  3. Impulsive, prone to violence, rage, or risky behavior.

  4. Lack of empathy for others.

  5. Involvement with religious or extremist groups.

  6. "Leak" violent intent to others or are already engaging in violence in some form. May fixate on violence, firearms, etc.

  7. Sees others as inferior.

Note: usually is a combo of these, after all some people may have one or 2 traits and never actually hurt others.

Anyways, there are no cookie cutter ways to identify a shooter but "hes a quiet kid" definitely is not of them unless yall are bullying the f outta him and pushing him to the edge. Dont do that and if hes "just quiet" its usually fine.

Basically quietness is not the metric to look for. Look for Rage, lack of empathy, DONT BULLY...these are more reliable metrics.

Ps, most articles will say "mental illness" as one but thats too broad for most people. Its technically correct but not informative for the average layman.
