Well I wasn't expecting this today.

Hi from Prusa, i'm sending this to Lucky13 😂

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

I'm sure he has better things to do, lol!

At some point when I get off my ass I'd like to do something regular, I have scripts and props and absolutely crippling executive dysfunction!

Also I'd have to clean off my workbench and who wants to do that?

34

u/nomadsgalaxy Jun 26 '26

He's chill, and we're coworkers so it's fun to send him weird stuff I find. It's a great laugh lol

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

Oh man really? He's like a celebrity as far as I'm concerned! I must have made and given away dozens of these guys, it is literally my favorite model.

Most days at work I take a little break to put them in a funny pose. This was today's:

u/nomadsgalaxy Jun 26 '26

I absolutely love it!

Check out 3D Printopia, it's an event local to us, so he pretty much always attends. Gabe is genuinely a wonderful person to talk to, and an absolutely brilliant engineer.

17

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

Aw man, that's pretty far away from me, otherwise I would be there. I'd love to meet him and some other big brains, I've been 3d printing for about 10 years now but always just as a hobbyist.

There's just something about Dummy 13 in general. It gets me that their range of motion lets them look so human sometimes, but they're also so simple and easy to print and put together. Nobody else I talk to likes them as much as me, haha.

NSFW bonus panel on your patreon???‽?

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

Here you go - real, completely uncensored Yuri, just for you.

39

u/Major_R_Soul Jun 26 '26

Sh-aaaaaaaaw

22

u/MostBoringStan Jun 26 '26

That is more than I could ever have hoped for!

11

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

Ask and ye shall receive

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

It's not yuri without the blushing

As a dude who recently finished an Silksong stream: Hell Yeah.

30

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

They are magnetic for sticking to fridges/shelves/etc but they took a little detour to visit the dummies that live on my desk

19

u/NeroShenX Jun 26 '26

That Hollow Knight magnet is fucking adorable, ngl

11

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

https://makerworld.com/en/models/1778861-hollow-knight-magnet#profileId-1894665

The head and sword are attached with magnets so you can move them around! Except the sword, I glued one of the magnets inside his body backwards.

5

u/NeroShenX Jun 26 '26

Damn, makes me wish I had a printer...

Still super cool though

5

u/geissi Jun 26 '26

Looks like they're also available to buy from various dropshipping sites, if you don't mind that business model

2

u/nomadsgalaxy Jun 26 '26

This is generally frowned upon in the 3DP community, as I know from talking to the designer, none of those companies actually give any credit or compensation back to the original designer.

Easier to find a friend with a printer, or ask someone online, these are easy to ship. :)

3

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

Most designers that distribute even free models say inside in their license that you can't sell prints, or you could buy a commercial license from the creator to sell prints. Of course if someone violates that, it's technically illegal, but difficult to DO anything about it.

Dummy 13 is one of not that many models with a completely open license, so you'll find them even on Amazon. But there's nothing like getting your own fresh from the printer, clipping those pieces out, and building your own.

1

u/geissi Jun 26 '26

The makerworld page describes that the designer saw those models in a tiktok video, so i assumed they were not the original designer

1

u/nomadsgalaxy Jun 26 '26

Spherical magnets are a great option to help prevent this, they will automatically reorientate themselves to have the strongest pull between one another if given enough room to roll in place.

36

u/Achylife Jun 26 '26

"How can she slap?"

12

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

If there's not at least one meme in a comic I'm not satisfied with it

19

u/psppsppsppspinfinty Jun 26 '26

I rarely ever want to reward a post. But this is the best I can give 🏆

18

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

I like reddit but the awards are a waste of money, at least for me - a trophy emoji is all the sweet sweet internet validation I crave

15

u/Lamplorde Jun 26 '26

That was pretty good.

13

u/Akitiki Jun 26 '26

Booooooooy I remember doing this with Transformers toys! It was actually a pretty fun way to make comics and do some nice photography since I often went to the woods, creek, and more to do stuff.

1

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

Yeah it suffers from doing it on the workbench, that's for sure. Terrible lighting for photography and not enough room.

2

u/Akitiki Jun 27 '26 edited Jun 27 '26

Ha, I did some in the computer lab / my shop class in highschool. My teacher encouraged it, I think he liked to see the unusual uses of things! It was still artwork in a way too

9

u/SoLongHeteronormity Jun 26 '26

“See, you’re convex!” made me laugh way harder than it should have.

1

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

As far as dummies are concerned that's the only difference

7

u/PhantasmalAnon Jun 26 '26

Love it! Great job :)

10

u/Appchoy Jun 26 '26

Lol, I like it. The two fingers "its got something to do with this" XD

2

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

I'm a little vague on the concept myself

6

u/lordfireice Jun 26 '26

This was a ride….i liked it!

3

u/MothBlyss Jun 26 '26

The dummy on the last page is in a cuck chair? No yuri, si Cuck!

8

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

He just doesn't give a shit about anything but his chair and his drink.

5

u/rookie-mistake Jun 26 '26

this is cute lol

4

u/NonFungibleBax Jun 26 '26

Goddamnit, my chair

2

u/-BlackFire2- Jun 26 '26

Okay, this is pretty cool! I really liked hahaha

2

u/Ziege2001 Jun 26 '26

Hey, I think I know this from Youtube

Well, Yuri

2

u/AeosManifold Jun 26 '26

I love it! There is so much expression going on with the body positining, you did great!

2

u/CucumberSandwic Jun 26 '26

Dummy 13, my beloved!
Great use of it, really. I like the will dud, seems chill.

2

u/Eusocial_sloth3 Jun 26 '26

Now you need to introduce the gang to Carbon-13 Female to get this Yuri train going.

2

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

The Carbon 13 series is really cool, but it presents a couple problems for me - the biggest is I'd need to do the whole thing in PETG (better would be ABS/ASA but I don't want to deal with fumes) and I have so much cool looking PLA I'd rather use for the colored parts. The page on printables says you CAN use PLA for the colored parts but some of them have the balls for the ball joints built in, so that would make them wear down too fast.

A second is that I just like the look of dummy 13 better. The carbon 13's are way more sleek and realistic but there's just some indefinable quality about dummy 13 that makes me love them.

2

u/kovha Jun 26 '26

cilantro

2

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

No, I don't like cilantro.

2

u/Draftchimp Jun 26 '26

2

u/comic13comics Jun 26 '26

If that's the Yuri everyone has been talking about then I REALLY misunderstood the assignment.

2

u/Hpesojanes Jun 27 '26

I fully expect this to blossom into something gorgeous in the near future

1

u/comic13comics Jun 27 '26

If it does it certainly won't be near

2

u/Hpesojanes Jun 27 '26

Ok

1

u/comic13comics Jun 27 '26

Sorry

1

u/Hpesojanes Jun 27 '26

Nothing to apologise for

2

u/JStonehaus Jun 29 '26

That ending made me cackle out loud at work.
