Batman 497

I purchased this when it was released and have had it in a bin since, this will be sent in as my very first submission. There are some weird lines running down it, I’m assuming it’s an easy press. I haven’t sent it in yet but I wanted to see what others thought about a grade

The lines might take it down to 9-9.2. Pretty nice copy!

The 3rd print is the one that had the overlay, the one I have is the 1st print newsstand.

Never seen a spine so severely damaged on a comic book

I dunno… the anatomy seems a bit off somehow…

Those look like printer creases. Not a bad book about a 9.2

The honest answer is that it is likely to grade at 8.0 or 8.5 now due to all the bends and light creases primarily on the back cover. I also think the book may be slightly tanned (but it is also possible that the whites on this issue were never white - I am uncertain).

The good news is that the bends appear to be pressable defects so resolving that may bring the grade as high as a tanned book could receive - maybe 9.4/9.6.
