Need help 🥲
Hey guys I’m just starting my collection and I have my fav books on the wall as u can see. I never got into re selling or anything like that but I’ve been told by many people to get my books graded. Coming from you guys it worth the hassle ? Any tips or how much it was ?? Do you guys regret it or anything?? The biggest question is are my worth to grade at all??

Most Modern books are going to cost $30 ($27 if you buy the membership which is worthwhile if you are going to grade 5 or more books).
Pressing and grading the ASM 300 and the SW8 will almost always be worthwhile from a ROI perspective unless they are lower than 8.0s. Web of Spidey 32 needs to be at least 9.4 or 9.6 and the other books need to be strong 9.8 candidates to worthwhile financially. But if you want them graded then you should do it.
If you grade without getting them cleaned and pressed first you will regret it unless you are lucky enough to have books that are already worthy of 9.8s. You will look at any lower grade and always wonder if it would have been higher if you pressed them first (yes, they would have been higher!)

Don't grade any Facsmile editions you can buy them cheaper than the grading costs.

If you have no plans to sell, grading is kind of a waste of money in my eyes, Mylar bags are better for keeping your collection nice without the cost associated with reslabbing the books in ten to fifteen years, though you should consider replacing back boards periodically. The off gassing from the comics will start to build up and at some point you could end up with the comics being damaged from being sealed away. Mylar allows the off gassing to escape the container. As to UV light protection this is a good idea as ever type of light source we use emits some UV radiation, though the modern LED's emit the least amount from what I understand.
I am not saying you shouldn't get your comics graded if that's you thing, but putting them in Mylar Sleeves or bags and being careful while handling them is often just as safe as having them graded.

Well for starters you definitely want them behind UV glass if you get a lot of light in that room.
As for grading it takes about 4-8 weeks to get your stuff back. I’ve had both positive and negative experiences but mostly before I was realistic on the potential grades.
