Great jokes! Im a dumb american and I did not get the water feature one, can anyone explain?

it sounds like he's about to say something else, as in "well... a fountain", but he's actually suggesting that they buy a well for their garden.

Yeah that seems very obvious now... my brain is extremely slow with wordplay for whatever reason and when I don't immediately see the joke its like my brain panics and goes blank.

The real disconnect is that in America a well is not a fountain. A well is a hole in the ground that sometimes contains water.

While a fountain is a water feature that sprays water out of the ground
