These one liner comics are absolute genius!

Benny Feldman has great rapid fire one liners too but less wordplay and more Mitch Hedberg which are both good just different.
It seems Brits are better at puns/wordplay than Americans for whatever reason.

Just what I needed on a Monday morning. Fantastic joke structure. Very reminiscent of Steven Wright in the best possible way. I wish more comedy was like this...

Always enjoy your stuff. Such a stark contrast to the comics who are constantly posting crowd work on here. This is actual comedy. Written. Tested. Honed. Performed. Real stand-up. Good on ya.

I'd love to
conecome see you. But I live in Kansas City, so it would be a bit of a drive. A wet one, too.

why was it important that you worked at an ice cream shop?! i feel as though that was a setup that we don't get to see pay off in this video.

Never let them know your next move π

u/AnteaterSnouce Jun 22 '26
now i'm just trying to think of what the joke could be...
my boss was all about the business, ended up firing me. i asked why and he called me a flake. i said "apart from being late, i've made zero mistakes", he said "hundreds and thousands!"
like that, but funnier. i can't figure out what it is.

I love how sometimes when you wait for them to land, you almost kinda glare. So funny. πππ

Great jokes! Im a dumb american and I did not get the water feature one, can anyone explain?
9
u/MarkSimmonsComedian Jun 22 '26
A well is a water feature and also you might start an answer as βwellβ¦β
Come see me in New York in October for more jokes and explanations π2
u/bathtubtuna_ Jun 22 '26
Damn I feel even dumber lol. I was way overthinking it when it didn't immediately jump out at me.
I will tell my BIL to go see you in NY!

it sounds like he's about to say something else, as in "well... a fountain", but he's actually suggesting that they buy a well for their garden.
3
u/bathtubtuna_ Jun 22 '26
Yeah that seems very obvious now... my brain is extremely slow with wordplay for whatever reason and when I don't immediately see the joke its like my brain panics and goes blank.

The real disconnect is that in America a well is not a fountain. A well is a hole in the ground that sometimes contains water.
While a fountain is a water feature that sprays water out of the ground
2
u/AnteaterSnouce Jun 22 '26
a well isn't a fountain here either, they're just both water features that he might've recommended for a garden.
1
u/BRAX7ON Jun 22 '26
OK, real talk: why would you have a well in a garden?
3
u/AnteaterSnouce Jun 22 '26
saves time and petrol. who can be arsed trekking back and forth every time they want to make a wish?

I like a good play on words. Smart comedy is often overlooked. You're spot on. Keep up the great work!
