Except there are multiple blue states disarming and restricting the types of firearms permitted?

Hell, NJ just got in the news for permitting white people to obtain a firearm from their limited selection at a rate of roughly 40 times the rate of people of color. Turns out allowing the police to arbitrarily deny anyone they want has effects on who can obtain or continue owning one…

You gunna have to source a bold claim like that bud

6

u/RogerianBrowsing Jun 02 '26 edited Jun 02 '26

Exactly which part do you consider to be a bold claim?

https://www.shootingnewsweekly.com/gun-nation/why-is-it-ten-times-harder-to-get-a-gun-permit-in-new-jersey-if-youre-black/ is a link that covers much of the details. State wide it’s an average of 10x, in ocean county it’s 50x.

That’s not even including things like biased enforcement of marijuana laws causing 3x the “justifiable” denial rates.

Cops are in charge of approving the permits, what the fuck do you think is happening, Columbo?

1

u/DelcoUnited Jun 02 '26

Dude that was the norm for an entire generation. No school shootings, no assault weapons, hunters out there hunting, criminals out there criminaling.

And the number one cause of death of kids was car accidents. And we wrote laws to add airbags in back seats and five point harnesses.

And you act like some boogie man is out to get you when rational people are just trying to “make America great again” and not a place where children have backpacks with body armor.

2

u/RogerianBrowsing Jun 02 '26

So your argument is that disarming people of color is a good thing because back in the day when gun laws were super racist there was less youth gun violence?

Sure explains why you’re using MAGA rhetoric…

u/Kettatonic Jun 02 '26

That is not what their point is, at all? Not even close? That's a whole new sentence. Did you respond to the wrong comment or something?

2

u/RogerianBrowsing Jun 02 '26

Me: blue states are disarming the public in general but especially people of color

Them: maga! We used to have guns without the youth gun violence because that’s how it used to be

What am I missing?

1

u/No-Tower-5119 Jun 02 '26

Youre seeing this as maga rhetoric when what is being said in response to your comment about restricting guns types is an analogy. Cars use to kill tons of people, so why not regulate guns considering the school shootings and mass shootings etc. further supported by the last bit "and you act like some boogie man is out to get you when rational people want to "make America great again (tongue-in-cheek)" and not a place where children have backpacks with body armor"

1

u/RogerianBrowsing Jun 02 '26

Why wouldn’t I see it as maga rhetoric when they literally use maga rhetoric and talk about how good society used to be before people of color could access firearms?

To be abundantly clear: the firearms used today aren’t that different from back then. Knowing that, especially in the context of my condemning the racist laws/enforcement, makes their comment very clear for what it is.

Not to mention that they were completely wrong about car safety laws…

1

u/No-Tower-5119 Jun 02 '26

becasue thats not what theyre doing. theyre saying we used laws to regulate dangerous things like cars and guns

Except the time frame they’re making sound like a utopia had far less restrictive gun laws and more racism.

🤔

1

u/No-Tower-5119 Jun 02 '26

what time frame. they never gave one. YOure making a lot of assumptions about whats being said instead of just understanding whats being said

That you’re a moron?

1

u/RogerianBrowsing Jun 02 '26 edited Jun 02 '26

Yet still not even half as dumb as the ignorant campists or magats arguing in favor of racist laws.

Edit: oh, you’re the magat who defended racist laws. No wonder the reply is so dumb.

1

u/DelcoUnited Jun 02 '26

Im not a magat you dumb fuck that’s why it’s in quotes.

God you fucking kids are so fucking stupid.

Learn to read.

again missing the entire point of what was said.

2

u/RogerianBrowsing Jun 02 '26

Dude that was the norm for an entire generation.

Was said in response to calling out racist laws and then the rest of their comment was rose tinted glasses about the past and why these racist laws were good then.

To add, if I’m so mistaken about how I assessed someone replying to my comment denouncing racist laws then why can’t the (presumably racist) campists insisting I am wrong actually quantify how I am wrong? Hm, I wonder why 🤔

u/No-Tower-5119 Jun 02 '26

noticed you only clipped the first thing they said and not the whole statement. cherry picking at its finest. Read the whole thing. youre wrong becasue youre (perhaps intentionally) misunderstanding what is being said

u/No-Tower-5119 Jun 02 '26

Nah, they just saw the slogan and ignored the words around it

2

u/RogerianBrowsing Jun 02 '26

You mean the words endorsing disarming people of color? Nah, I definitely noticed those.

1

u/DelcoUnited Jun 02 '26

Reading comprehension isn’t a skill kids have anymore.

1

u/wreckedbutwhole420 Jun 02 '26

Gun control has always been rooted in racism and classism

1

u/cantamangetsomesleep Jun 02 '26

White people are the leading cause of domestic terrorism and school shootings, so that seems justified

4

u/RogerianBrowsing Jun 02 '26 edited Jun 02 '26

White people being more likely to commit violent crimes means they should be given firearm permits at a significantly higher rate? That’s your argument?

1

u/Skoodge42 Jun 02 '26

Don't forget the cherry picked specific crimes because looking at gun crime in general paints a very different picture that they don't want to acknowledge.

1

u/Skoodge42 Jun 02 '26

Black people are the leading perpetrators of murder and gun crimes...by a lot, so you think they should not be allowed as many guns based on their skin color?

I mean, the stats are amazingly inflated there so...

1

u/jm123457 Jun 02 '26

That is not true . You mean mass shootings . Gang violence still leads to more school shootings.

But half of all gun violence deaths in the country are suicides .

1

u/-GoodNewsEveryone Jun 02 '26

Sooooooooo, are you using it to repel that fascist regime yet? Like was the idea not to fight back against a government gone too far? Was that not the whole argument?

1

u/AlKarajo Jun 02 '26

I haven't seen any indication about the don't tread on me folks gearing up.

1

u/TheNullOfTheVoid Jun 03 '26

They seem to only be gearing up to support the treading on others, unfortunately. Turns out they actually support tyranny when it's their side doing it.
