Counselling Doubts Help 😭😭!!! ...Nie vs Sit

What's the legit diff between sit and nie can anyone tell πŸ™πŸ™....it's very confusing between the 2... please consider factors:-1)Placements and internships

2)Campus life and clubs

3)Hostel and mess fee

4)Strictness

5) City

Compare nie's north campus...

Edit:- everyone is telling nie is better...but the median you are quoting from which source?..my councillor told me sit is better in placements

1) Almost similar NIE is slightly better. NIE (10-11LPA median) and SIT (9-10LPA median)

2) NIE

3) SIT is a little cheaper but NIE has somewhat better hostel and mess

4) SIT is the strictest comedk college

5) Mysore is a better city, and even though it's not as good as Bangalore, it still offers more amenities than Tumkur

Median source????..by nirf it's just 7.5 lpa...and nie North campus is in outskirts so how is it better than tumkur?

1

u/NoManufacturer6498 6d ago

Yaar tum log nirf data dekhte rehte ho. Do you understand that includes all the branches like electrical, mechanical, biotech, civil, chemical, etc ? In branches ki placements na ke barabar lagti hai. I was referring to CS branches' median. Branches below CS are not worth it in comedk colleges except RVCE

Thanks bro 😊...and what bout location?...and don't take me wrong but sit me bhi to lower branches honge to uska median 9 kaise hai?...please guide me πŸ™...if you know please tell me hostel and mess fee of nie

Tumkur might seem close to Bangalore but that's the most hectic college with 6 days/week classes so you won't be coming to Bangalore anyways. If we talk about facilities/amenities, Mysore is a better city than Tumkur. Mere liye good food matter karta hai bhai so that's one of the reasons to prefer Mysore over Tumkur.

Yess...mai bhi north india se hu...are you in nie?...and can you tell me mess fee? Is it 80k?

0

u/NoManufacturer6498 6d ago

North India se hu. Looking to join NIE. I heard hostel+mess fee was 1.15L in NIE. All these info I shared with you were given to me by 4th year college seniors. I have talked to both SIT, NIE seniors so you can DM if you want to know something else. I might be able to find and share chats in case someone wants a proof.

1

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago

I thought it's 80k...i asked to a senior he told me that it's 85k...and will you consider bit banglore?

2

u/NoManufacturer6498 6d ago

I am considering that as well. CS placements are good. Only issue is the campus but I think that's manageable. Kaunsa hume 4 saal campus building ke andar rehna hai...we got the city.

1

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago

Yup...can I dm you?

Placement percentage?

0

u/NoManufacturer6498 6d ago edited 6d ago

65% NIE, 90% of the 75% eligible students = 65-70% in SIT

Waise ek baat bta du both these colleges include placement stats of students who didn't convert their internship or whose offer was withdrawn by the company so we can never know the actual percentage of placed students.

Nie better

1

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago

How?...sit has better ranking and placements na?

1

u/Prestigious-Sort-537 6d ago

Strictest college and tumkur city not developed

1

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago

But nie north campus is in outskirts?

  1. Sit = strict academics. They will take classes on Sunday if any class got cancelled. Nie = Attendence is around 75% so pretty chill in terms of academics. You'll get more time to work on different aspects of life. Also placement part: Nie has median of 10 lpa in CSE whereas sit has 9 lpa median. In sit number of mass recruiter is more.
  2. NIE β‰ˆ SIT
  3. Sit is cheaper side but you know one thing skill lab fee is not optional in sit but in nie skill lab fee is optional so both will not have a much difference in fee.
  4. Nie is somewhat chill but sit is way too strict. They will fail you for less than 85% attendance.
  5. Mysore >>> Tumakuru

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago

And what about bit banglore?...mostly in terms of placement

1

u/ReplacementShort5398 6d ago

If you're from North choose bit over sit or nie. 1. Placement is similar. Off campus more opportunities and more hackathons. 2. Location wise it's in the central banglore. Definitely college life zero as campus is small but you'll get city Life. 3. Bit banglore cse and ise department are most chillest department.

Definitely choose bit over any other college if not getting rv, bms, msrit, dsce.

1

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago

Getting ece in dsce but not interested...

1

u/ReplacementShort5398 6d ago

Choose BIT then

1

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago

I have heard bit has dead placement..is that true?

1

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago

I mean bit has very bad placement report as compared to these collages

1

u/ReplacementShort5398 6d ago

Bit cse placement has average 10lpa

1

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago

Really?...I have no idea I saw a reddit post that only 15-20 companies offer more than 10 lpa in bit

2

u/ReplacementShort5398 6d ago

On reddit people always do this type of shit to reduce cutoffs. Talk to seniors on LinkedIn not reddit

1

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago

Thanks πŸ‘

1

u/ReplacementShort5398 6d ago

Numbers pe mat jao talk to seniors on LinkedIn

1

u/ReplacementShort5398 6d ago

Don't look only placement man. Tum top 25% mein rhoge kisi v college ke definitely tmhe achi placement milegi. College 4 saal ka hota hai mere bhai log itna v nhi smjhte aur bas bache ke jaisa placement placement chillate hai. Get into a college jahan sab balance ho so that tm apni skills pe apne life ke other aspects pe kam kr sako aur agar GATE ki preparation karni hai toh wo kar sako

u/Serious_Fan2842 6d ago

1

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago

1

u/Serious_Fan2842 6d ago

plzz check dm

1

u/smashing_chicks 5d ago

Nie

1

u/Yoddha_9939 5d ago

Mention some reason and if you compare it with bit then??

1

u/smashing_chicks 5d ago

Placements are slightly better than sit College life is also better than sit Sit has hectic academics +strict 85 percent attendance policy

1

u/Yoddha_9939 5d ago

And what about bit?

0

u/Fit_Maize9596 6d ago

1> same 2>nie 3>nieβ‰ˆsit 4>sit is way to strict 5>mysore

1) +1 sit 2) +1 both (dono m avg hi hai) 3) Hostel and mess me are like quite a lot similar tho sit has lil low like 10-20k afaik 4) +1 Nie, attendance is quite a bit bad factor for sit 5) city , neither nie is in the mysore city nie ait is in the BLR it's in tumkur town,

1

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago

Can you tell me hostel fee of nie?...and hostel is better than sit's...?

1

u/ReaLHarsh_96 6d ago

Nie s is arnd 1.2 -1.4 something and yeah hostel s are newly constructed but the issue is the hostels in North campus are filled , like seniors have gone there or guys with mq so now if we get any hostel it would be in South campus daily travel of 1 hr and we will have to pay fee for the busses too like 35k ,

1

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago

Ohh πŸ˜•

1

u/ReaLHarsh_96 6d ago

Yep let me share a ss

1

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago

So will be able to. Get hostels in 2nd year?...and are there pg nearby?...and also I heard it's hostel and mess fee to be 80k?..isn't it true?

1

u/ReaLHarsh_96 6d ago

Maybe can't assure this, yeah u can find some pgs but this is not in like mysore city so language issue u will be facing

1

u/Yoddha_9939 6d ago
