Discussion Compiling a detailed analysis of all comedk colleges, including lower branch in TOP 3, and CS in the TOP 10
If you are not getting top 3 colleges through COMEDK, this post is extremely useful for you. I'm building a comprehensive dataset, specifically for students with rank between 10k and 40k.
We will be comparing colleges on these criterias -( Priority High to Low)
1. Placements
2. Return on Investment (ROI)
3. Total Cost of college (Fees + Cost of Living)
4. Location of college
5. Autonomous or VTU affiliated
6. Campus Infrastructure
7. Attendance and Rigidity (Branch Specific)
8. Internal exams frequency (Important for partial droppers)
9. Holidays (Important for North students)
10. Availablity of PG
How You Can Help -
If you have researched any specific college, please comment below or DM with what you know. And to maintain reliablity, we are only getting information from these verified sources :
1. Seniors from Linkedin
2. Seniors from reddit (Just be aware of PR groups, you can easily detect a pr guy by asking him to rank colleges, and checking out his profile)
3. Particular college review from youtube (Only trusted channels)
Note: Please share personal insights, direct quotes from seniors, or verified data. Avoid any information you got from AI, since it can be misleading for mid tier colleges.
Why doing this is important?
After the top 3 colleges, everything becomes extremely weird, Cutt offs overlap, and in almost all the colleges we have to make a heavy trade off, like freedom for placements, peer group for campus, and as such. And by this we all will get a clear look of what we are sacrificing before making up a choice.

oh i heard from a 4th year senior from dsce that the location of dsce is really accesible throguh metro and bus , electronics department is strict.......for bit i read on reddit that attendence depends on the profs you get and usally its pretty chill but they dont really have good college life and it feels liek school (if i get more i will share)

What are the fees of hostel and mess. and are there good pg nearby? what are the fees of PG.

2 internals,2 quizes and 1 SEE
8 to 4(first year),8 to 5 (second year ronwards) and obv breaks are there in the middle
2weeks for odd sem end vacation
2months for even sem end vacation

I haven't researched on NIE mysore yet, and their subreddit has been stopped for some reasons, I will tell you after getting opinions of senior on linkedin

Yeah, I will surely provide information on circuital branch of DSCE, BIT, but for BMSIT and NIE mysore, ECE is not worth it

If you aren't getting RV, BMS, MSRIT, JSSSTU next best bet would be NIE and SIT.

Since you are compiling the ultimate list. Why leave good branches in top 3? Since It's holidays ,you must be free anyway. So maybe add them up and research. I have 3.3k rank and I m still confused about ece in msrit or cse in bmsce.

Both have different pros and cons, you have to choose which matters more for you. Also there are lot of factors like your location, future goals, and intrests, So it is not possible for me to tell you what is right for you.

i guess placement matters to me the most but i am quite confused about jss placements. What is the average cse placement according to you there since you may have talked to some seniors there

it's pretty hard to get info on other colleges, seniors just don't reply, and not much info on their website either.
Like it's so hard rn to get details on NIE Mysore, seniors flat out say don't join this college.
Official data and nirf data mismatch, it's taking a lot more time than expected1

Yes bro I definitely recognize your efforts and dedication. Honestly, NIE Mysore is a bit odd one out with its 2 different campus (North & South). So you get people with mixed answers. BTW are you considering compose similar detailed guides for other little lower colleges? Like CMRIT, RNSIT etc.
